Never felt closer

"First" and I remember that air attendant story☺

Call me skeptical but the story of David and Goliath was not about us. We are not to compare ourselves to David in the story. This story is used time and time again to illustrate "facing our giants". Usually your David, and your giant is Goliath. You are told by the pastor that you need to sling your stone at your giant (or something along those lines). Consider this: If you are always inserting yourself in the Bible as the hero of the story, then you might be reading the Bible wrong. Not only that but every Bible character gets tarred but Jesus. Jesus is THE ONLY human to have ever been completely sinless. HE is the hero. We are not heroes and we need to stop inserting ourselves in the Bible as the heroes. Do we ever compare ourselves to Goliath? Maybe we are the giant to someone else. So then... if David and Goliath is not about US being David every time, then what is it about? What we are missing is the real story. We are missing the beauty of EVERY story in the old Testament. THEY ALL point to Christ. The story of David and Goliath is also symbolic. Sin, death, and hell are like all the Goliaths and Jesus is the David of all of those. David had five stones, and Jesus had five wounds in his body and dies for the sins of the world. Jesus looked defeated just like how it looked like David would have not been able to defeat Goliath. However Jesus defeated sin and death for the entire world just as David saved Isreal from Goliath. This is so beutiful that Jesus has allowed us to be able to be redeemed by dying of the cross. THIS what I explained about David and Goliath is SO amazing. It is so much deeper and has so much more significance. The entire Old testement not only literally prophesies of Jesus, but it has these stories so intricately inserted into it that have these parralells to Jesus. What are we doing people? Why are we taking this amazing meaning out of the story of David and Goliath and interting us in? Who cares about our financess, success, money, etc... and how we need to defeat our "Goliaths". Who cares... Jesus DEFEATED DEATH so we don't have to experience death in Hell and so we can also love God instead of loving to sin and that we have the ability to honour and love him because of what he has done for us. God is great. Don't insert yourself in the Bible because it destroys the purpose of the these stories.
