It's kinda sad because everyone in the rai tai tournament was top notch, it's just that they went against the absolute best of the best. This dude was probably really great, might have even given Oliva a run for his money too, but instead he goes against Yujiro right off the bat. That one son of the old man with shaori was also supposed to be a beast too, but again, the first dude he goes up against is Baki fucking Hanma.

Ngl, they did that guy dirty. Like after 100 years of martial arts which basically all train speed I'd think he'd pick at least a little up to not have his attack blitz 2x by yujiro. Bro was bigger and had more experience than all the baki characters and they did that too him. It's a shame fr. And tbh it's kinda like a message in the show that training doesn't mean anything against natural talent which is very demotivating.

Itagaki does like to not use too many characters but ryu kaioh wasn't really hyped up anyway, he was scared of Dorian and also didn't let retsu become kaioh till Dorian force him to.

@@joukeschat2486 Itagaki does kill characters off, just not too much, baki is a big shounen by birth, it isn't meant to be some quick fillerless show where people keep dying one after another to create plot or shock. Also idk what your definition of a good story is, mine is whatever keeps me watching and is fun, for you, it's probably writing, you can't enjoy things without it.

It's worth the watch, they do like to do move explaining a lot but it's also a part of its charm, the overdetailing helps convey just how absurdly powerful the fighters are.
