To save you some time the tips are: 1) make sure your phone is updated 2) make sure nothing is blocking the sensor (wipe phone, remove broken/bubbled screen protector) 3) make sure nothing is blocking your face (remove sunglasses/mask,etc.) 4) restart phone (turn off and turn back on) 5) try set up alternate appearance 6) reset Face ID 7) LAST RESORT: go to settings, general, scroll all the way down and reset iPhone (this will reset to factory settings-you will lose EVERYTHING) Your welcome.

Really sensible suggestions. My problem was the protective cover was blocking the face ID sensors. This would never have occurred to me. Thank you so much. All is well now.

Thanks for the video. My FaceID stopped working as soon as I upgraded to iOS so I thought it was a software issue but I tried everything you mentioned on this video and still have the issue so my next step is taking it to Apple Support for a possible hardware repair.

Got my iPhone 12 Pro Max replaced after breaking it and put on a front facing camera blocker so nobody’s could see me through my camera if it’s hacked and little did I know it was blocking the senor too! I didn’t even know they were sensors!! Was about to send it back, you’re a life saver!!

Interesting when you setup your FaceID to exit (as in accept or save) it only gives you Cancel button, top left. Not the U/X we are used to from Apple.

I never had any problems with my iPhone 11 Pro, but since I updated, now it’s not working. It did work before the stupid update . Mine doesn’t say it’s not working it just says move higher or lower. It’s very annoying and this phone is much too expensive to have these problems .

I’ve tried all of these solutions and didn’t work for me. I knew when I threw it on the wall it probably damaged the sensor inside. So I took it to Apple Store next day and voila as soon I was trying to show it doesn’t work it worked perfectly fine.

Update: face id works well when I’m outside or certain rooms but doesn’t work all the time like in my bedroom. Could be something to do with the light. Apple guy said quality of signal affects it
