That is one of my dream roles. One of the only downsides I can think of for playing that role is not getting to sing Facade.

I love the meaning behind this song because it is still true today and i love this concept of life like a masquerade

I saw this in NYC in the summer of 1998 with linda eder.. amazing. I love this show!

This is literally the only thing that's keeping me alive.

Awesomeness. I really don't get all the Frank Wildhorn hate. Granted, I haven't really looked into his other stuff, but this is a pretty legit musical. Sure it has it's corny bits, but what musical doesn't?

Well a good musical has no corny bits (Like the musicals Miss Saigon, Hamilton, and Ragtime) because they aren't relying on the music but simply using it to tell the story and express the thoughts of a charatcer in a way a play can't usually do. They also portray relevant themes like how being a mother is the greatest power of all (Miss Saigon) how history has it's eyes on you and that history will remember you for the way your story is told (Hamilton) and how times are changing and the people change too (Ragtime) but this is just my sill opinion.

i have said it on this video before but i will say it again. The Stride on this is sooo good, really undervalued. his voice is like guiness, and his phrasing is excellent. unlike some people (Hoff, im afraid to say) his voice is full of colour and concept

I love this Beaconsfield. When she arrives a 1.54, she sighs and smiles to herself. It's smug without sneering at the poor. Very subtle and I love it.

My favorite ensemble number in any musical. Probably tied with the Ballad of Sweeney Todd.

This is my favorite song in the whole musical; I'll be going with my school to see it in a few weeks, and I plan to warn my friends that I WILL cry when it's sung.

@barrettc17 Sometiems less is more. That's what I love about this number. It's so simple and the "choreography" doesn't pull away or distract from the lyrics. Sometimes "community theatre" forgets that what is most important is the STORY not the SHOW.

tessa lassman It's on purpose, I'm pretty sure it's a combination of demonstrating their poverty through lack of manners, but also potentially intended from the point of view of the character as an insult to the upper class, willful disrespect

There is another KZread video billed as a rehearsal which shows the same actress making the same motions at the same point in the song's performance. As Aidan Globus stated the action is part of the choreography.

Everyone in this cast is absolutely amazing, aside from Hoff. Sure, he's in character and all, and hits the right important notes, but as far as legendary singing, nobody can top Cuciolli or Colm Wilkinson. In my opinion, at least.

I like Hasselhoff as Jekyll, but he's a completely different person as Hyde; he scares me as Hyde
