In my faraway past I was so into beautiful homes and furniture I even took courses All through my life i graduated ACAD (Alberta College of Art and Design) after moving to Canada many years ago. You are my idol thank you for all the wonderful videos and the design team is amazing. Enjoy Life.

My real estate agent dad always drilled into me location, location, location. You can change the house, you can't change the location. If it's your dream location, change the house.

This is so true, I always think a doer upper , in a good road is the best too….. we did that in 1991, still here. Love it . Small Quaker village in Buckinghamshire . Never want to move away.

Same here . My husband has been a real estate broker for over 40 years. He has always said the exact same thing! Your dad’s a smart real estate agent. We’re in Texas though not down by the border, have several friends who live down there. It’s a mess today with the border crisis and so many of the cartel coming in. They live on ranches and they literally drive SUV’s onto their ranches/property full of women and children then just abandon the vehicles. I’m thinking in this case I might go! 😬

Having familiarity with Laredo and where both neighborhoods are, I would stick with the original house and remodel it into the forever home of my dreams, even if it doesn't completely pay off financially. The old neighborhood has a lot more yard space, mature trees, and older/greater variety of architecture. You don't get these characteristics in the newer neighborhoods by the country club where lots seem smaller, and the houses are built way larger taking up more lot putting you closer than you would expect to your neighbors. The sprawling single story layout of their current home has a lot of potential and seems perfect for an empty nester couple who wants to age in place. Whatever they decide, I wish them the best.

I can't believe how the time flies by. It's been 5 years since Santa Fe? I loved that renovation and really there is not a bad reno that you've ever shown us. I love them all. You are so talented. Thank you for sharing all your talents with us.

Yes. You are so talented. Could you please do a video sharing your personal journey how you got certified, where you studied or went to design school. That would be so great! These days everyone calls themselves a designer so it would be nice to know about the profession from someone who has actually lived a true career in design. I am sure many of us have wondered how it all began, for you are truly an inspiration .🙏🏼

Hi Monica, I agree, I'd love to work for Mr. Grumpy Pants again some day. Truth be told, he was awesome. I loved the banter we shared. Truly a great client. His letter meant the world to me... YES!!! Christmas in his home could be fabulous! Although... if you know him, you know he's not much of a Christmas guy... At least not yet. All of your designs have been absolutely jaw dropping but the Santa Fe design was 100% my favourite. He is such a super lucky guy to live through that whole experience and then enjoy his home forever. Wow!

That client kudos made me cry so I know how it musta made you feel. More people should take time to give flowers sorta speak while you still here. You are the best in what you do❤.

Rebecca, as soon as you appeared onscreen for this video, I thought to myself, “Wow! Rebecca is looking especially nice these days! Makeup, hair, glasses, jewelry and clothing is all right on-pointe!!!” Then you mentioned Tammy, and I reflected on just how big an impact a really talented stylist can have on how we present ourselves. And here I thought I was just going to pick up more wonderful home design tips ...and you’ve again exceeded my expectations!!! It’s baffling that a house like theirs would be valued in the millions in NY and only 750,000, if they’re lucky, in Texas. It’s even more unbelievable to me that they would ever want a 7000 square foot house at their age. Why would anyone need such a big house!? Anyway I’m really looking forward to seeing what you will do to update this house. I’m sure it will be beautifully done.

Glad to know my "ancient" design skills are still on cue!! (I haven't worked any major design in over 20 yrs). I'd go back to designing if I wasn't having so much fun creating art!!! Everything you pointed out were the exact same things I noticed and would have recommended!!! Loved your design solution for that living room, it needed warmth and drama. Rebecca I have taken clients to Furniture Land South in High Point North Carolina and there is so much amazing furniture to see it will make your head swim. I can not wait to see what you do to this home, especially the dining room. Everything must go, furniture, chandelier, drapes, even the windows! I know you are excited but probably overwhelmed in some aspect too but we know you will get it done!

Forget the house styling which is amazing. The clothes you tried on were absolutely fabulous wow 🤩

Love Furnitureland South - all my major furniture pieces have come from there: two couchs, coffee table/side tables, armoires, boys' entire bedroom bunk beds and dressers, plus two set of outdoor furniture. Such savings too!

Rocky feeds the Cats therefore I love Rocky ❤️ Their home is beautiful but can't wait to see what you can do for them to make it more modern ❤

Hands down a beautiful home with great bones. I so hope you warm it up with textiles and warm paint or wallpaper colors. I could definitely see grasscloth walls in the dining room. Obviously the homeowners style is fairly monochromatic and uncluttered but adding subdued textiles would really warm it up and envelope guests as well as them. This is so exciting!!! Lucky couple to have you.

I think having a stylist would be wonderful, I’ve had a store shopper before, and I found an alteration’s lady that made every piece of clothing I took to her fit my body perfectly. Funny but the first time I went to her I thought I just needed the pants to my suit hemmed, then she had me put the jacket on and she started pinning that….and at that point I was hooked, and I never took any clothing other than jeans home with me without them first going to La. I’m so eager to see what wonderful things you’re going to do to this border town in my home state of Texas. I know it’s going to be exquisite!

Super EXCITED for this project with this LOVELY couple! Back to the design shows I have enjoyed from you 🥰. I helped my friends find a house full of furniture a Furniture Land. It was the most efficient way to furnish a home. It was an AMAZING showroom. With scaled furniture plan in hand, and a a Furniture Land employee to fast track our search we got the home furnished in one day. Selected a custom rug. The experience was perfect as the furniture arrive with white glove service across the country.

I thought the idea was to downsize at a certain age. I did. I now live in a 820 sq. ft. condo, and loving it. Getting rid of all the stuff I accumulated over the years was the biggest challenge, but it more than made up for no longer living in a much larger space than one person needs.
