That's not the point. The point is that you can get even to the world level and occasionally win smth without being a well-rounded athlete. But in order to further progress, apparently it's best to join Danaher's team. Meregali is perfect example. A version of him a year ago would also probably pull guard in a similar situation, but definitely not him now.

Gordon pulls guard or lets himself be taken down to play on the bottom. Danaher's student... It's a sports bjj fight and not a street fight, pulling guard is part of it, it's the same as complaining that boxers don't kick...

Becuz its competitive so pulling guard and avoid taken down is a strategy. Its all bout points
