As a 'foundation' for your bracelets/cuffs - use the plastic from pop bottles or yogurt containers - they can get wet from sweat or rain??? Will stand up to more wear that the cardboard. I love this idea - so glad I happened on to your video! I wonder even if covering it with the plastic of Pepsi bottles - they are smooth - and finishing the edge with a paracord weave - oooow - I have had such a shot of inspiration from you! For the glass pendants, did you just use single strength glass or is there a glass made specifically for pendant use?
@stitchesbyjulia

Hi, I use a single glass. It is 2.1mm thick (2 pieces together are 3/16 inch thick). There are several Etsy stores that sell the glass. I use a 3/8 Inch Copper Foil Tape to wrap around the piece. The fabric is sandwiched in between. Thanks for watching. Julia

Hi Julie, My husband and I have escaped the MN winter this year and are spending it in FL. I am listening the weather back home and can't believe all the cold and snow! We will be heading back in 3 week. I do love and miss MN. My son and daughter-in-law live in St. Paul:)
Love love what you showed. 😁 can't wait to get started. 😁 thanks for sharing. 😊

Hi Rosalind, Thanks so much for subscribing and for taking the time to comment. So glad you enjoyed the video. Julia
it really creates beautiful designs
That was awesome!
Thank you for posting!

I am so in love with your art I never thought to do what you do to fabric and it is pure art. I am very new to sewing and i want to learn and do what you do with fabric i do not like quilting i just don't like all that business but your art is beautiful and can be used so many ways. Keep up on theses videos i love to watch you create!!

Hi Tammy, Thank you so much for your kind comment. I have never gotten the traditional quilting bug either, but I do love the organic look of free motion stitching. I am so glad you are enjoying the videos. Have a great week. Julia

I just stumbled on this video today and I love it. I’ve started doing some fabric collage and mixed media fabric pieces and have been inspired by you for sure. You mentioned you were in Minnesota. I just moved to Saint Cloud a little over a year ago

Hello, I love this video and these techniques are something I plan to explore. I loved the pendants you made. Have you done a video on them and the foiling around the outside? Thank you

Hi Jill, I did a soldering technique around the edges of this pendant. Honestly, I'm really bad at it! It takes the right equipment and lots of practice.
Impressive work

Really enjoyed the video, the projects you created and all of the color!!! One quick question - when you sew with all of the gorgeous variegated threads, what type of thread do you have in your bobbin? Thanks so much!
@stitchesbyjulia

Hi Michelle, I do use bobbin thread. I get mine at JoAnns. It is a bit thinner than other thread and strong. So glad you enjoyed the video!

Is this Sulky Brand sticky? i have watched other videos & yours looks different. I think I like it better.

Hi Vickie, It is not sticky. I have seen the sticky product also but have never used it. I do have to pin in place until I secure it with some sewing. Thanks for watching! Julia
For the glass pendants, did you just use single strength glass or is there a glass made specifically for pendant use?
@stitchesbyjulia
6 жыл бұрын
Hi, I use a single glass. It is 2.1mm thick (2 pieces together are 3/16 inch thick). There are several Etsy stores that sell the glass. I use a 3/8 Inch Copper Foil Tape to wrap around the piece. The fabric is sandwiched in between. Thanks for watching. Julia
Sadly I couldn't watch all of your machining as I think there was a fan on which threw a flashing reflection over it, (not a moaner but I'm epileptic) The rest of it tho was wonderful......I love your work, have seen other clips and it's all so inspiring I do similar stuff with paper, my real love is knitting but I love all textiles

What do you use them for.
Where do you get the copper jewelry frames?
Oh good. I’m glad your waiting 3 weeks.
do you use these as placemats? and are they washable?

Hi Char, They are washable- I wash them to get the solvy out. I cut pieces of my fabric collages and use them in other projects.
