Russia's patient commitment to a diplomatic resolution with the Kiev regime in order to establish an autonomous region for the 8 years preceding the SMO, and as the March 2022 draft agreement outlined is more logical when considering the challenges Russia confronts even after she succeeds on the battlefield. With major Russian population centers in the Donbass already under Russian control, and the possibility of gaining control over Odessa, future Ukrainian elections would be devoid of any balancing force, and would (unrestrained) lead to more rabidly anti-Russian results. There will be no more moderate candidates with goals of balancing national interests unless Russia curates Kiev's options similar to those in Tehran; a system I think we all expect to fail sooner or later. Such curation will both justify animus towards Russians & bolster an international pressure campaign of indefinite sanctions. Even ignoring the impact on elections, the Russian border and thus, the time it'd take a missile to reach Moscow (should intermediate range nuclear missiles be installed) will be nearly identical to the time of flight without the Donbass ... as it's only ~100 miles; irrelevant to hypersonic missiles. The 2013 scenario under Yanukovych, in which Russia had the entire territory of Ukraine as a neutral buffer seems impossible to emulate again without returning all of the gains Russia made on the battlefield (which would be crazy, and near political suicide for Putin). The alternative would be to literally annex all of Ukraine. Which should clearly explain why Russia was so hopeful for a negotiated solution in which Ukraine's territorial integrity and the entire population was so preserved. Mind you, I hope I'm wrong and lament the quandary Russia faces. I just don't see a strategy in which Russia isn't more vulnerable in the long run sadly.

Ukraine unlike Russia is forcing prisoners to die at the front. Russian prisoners had an option of just serving their sentences in full. The problem for Zelenskyy is that prisons are mostly filled with political prisoners disloyal to the regime. In general people kidnapped off the streets by Zelenskyy goons have zero motivation to die for him. When they manage to escape to Russians they willingly provide them with intelligence on Ukrainian positions, ammo depots etc. They consider Zelenskyy a tormentor and a war criminal.

But it is widely reported on as was tge change of ukraine law to facilitate this. Ukraine IS putting prisoners on the front line as cannon fodder, with vertically no training. Battalions they are put in are now blind folding them on the way to their deaths , so if they are lucky enough to get captured they don't give away the HQ of these detachments. They are referring to these prisoners as pencils.

I saw it on the military summary channel. How good his sources is I can't know. But it matches well with the countless claims of how little training. The kidnapped new troops they have been snatching from the street, Ukraine are sending to the front.

Sacrificing all these people for nothing is an unforgiveable crime. I am sorry Ukraine.

Zelensky is (chosen), so is the Ukranian oligarch Kolomoisky who funded his rise to power. So is Antony Blinken and Victoria Nuland of the US State Department. So are nearly all of Joe Biden's top administration appointments. If you believe Quora, perhaps so too is Putin based upon his mothers Russian name, and he may be ethnically, although religiously he claims to be Orthodox Christian. At the start of the war, I remember reading headlines about how the (chosen) were airlifted out of Ukraine (something like 60,000) - so they aren't dying wholesale with Russian bombs. Zelensky seems to have no problem killing ethnic Ukrainians, so long as he can skim off all the money that he grifts from the West. I cannot remember seeing any real battles since videos of Chechens in Mariupol. Since then, I only recall seeing drone strikes, and limited skirmishes, while Russians just slaughter Ukrainians with artillery and bombs. It is heartbreaking, and it is a terrible crime to send people as cannon fodder for two years in an unwinnable war, especially now since most are rounded off the streets against their will. 600k Ukrainians have been killed now? And they are pressing old men off the streets to go fight. I cannot understand how Putin is fine mass killing his "brother" people in a war of attrition, rather than using the force at his disposal to end the conflict. I am disgusted by it, and I am not Slavic or Orthodox. I cannot help but wonder how this would be portrayed if, instead of White Christian Europeans being mass slaughtered, instead (chosen people) were rounded up off the streets and sent to the front lines. Would Putin continue the meat grinder then? Would Zelensky send them? Would the USA and the media support that? I think we all know the answer.

The Ukrainian parliament blocked further conscription for too long. Now that the manpower is being conscripted, they receive too little training. The problem will be solved in a couple of months that’s why Putin is trying to push in offensive right now to take advantage of the temporary weakness.

The reason Kiev "struggles" to shoot down Russia's FAB-x00 Glide Bombs (as dozens of articles & videos complain about) is hardly just a technical challenge of targeting them, or their range. No, bc even if all technical problems were resolved such that they could reliably intercept every single FAB they targeted with a pair of $2-million missiles at $15,000 bombs ... incredibly is just ignoring the fact that Russia would LOVE Ukraine to deplete all their air defense missiles on FABs! That'd make the longer range and far more expensive cruise missile strikes go from 15% efficacy, to over 90%. And it's not a matter of the willingness to spend money, even if you didn't already know that the US can't make more than 600 Patriot Missiles per year (for ALL of their clients worldwide). But price is also a way of describing the volume of resources, physical and temporal required to manufacture each unit.

Re the FAB-3000. Those 'tons' are Metric 'tonnes', each of 1,000 kilos. Each kilo is 2.2 lbs. So the FAB-3000s deliver 6600 lbs high explosive. These could ruin a person's entire day - their last. This needs to be borne in mind, to understand the ferocious effectiveness of these weapons.

Its a Fuel air explosive and i think the fuel/explosive is more then 1/3 but still thermobaric bombs are very powerful and then the pressure dropps and just that kills a person.

Scariest thing about the FAB3000 is the accuracy is not dialed in yet. They can be off by about 10 to 20M. They seem to have 6 planes that can carry it. The jets that carry them are brand new modified versions of the old models. The people in Ukraine know they are finished. Killing your own troops is a sign you are finished.

That’s incorrect their accuracy is fine what people don’t understand and what propagandists take advantage of is that you don’t target the tops of buildings with these bombs because the pressure wave does the killing If you drop a fab straight into a building everything outside the building may survive as the walls absorb the pressure If you want to kill everything on the ground and inside multiple buildings you want to hit the ground ahead of it the pressure wave will kill everything inside of a building where atmosphere becomes more pressurized This is a fact of bomb ordinance If you want to target a single bunker you use an armor piercing capped delay fuse bomb or bunker buster

To me, IF Russia is bringing in N Korean troops or Iranian troops, etc, it is merely a matter of "C'mon in, get some experience and training in joint operations in a modern combat environment". Helpful but not necessary.

Ukraine doesn’t want to surrender, their commander-in-chief doesn’t want to. Any land from before 2014 that Ukraine had should be returned to Ukraine. I don’t see it working, but that’s the goal of Ukraine.

NATO supplied them with the most equipment they will ever have in this war and Ukraine had the most man power they will ever have. Yet they barely made a dent in the Russian lines. Now all that's gone and Ukraine is going to get less and less equipment and fewer men to to operate the equipment. They will never recapture eastern Ukraine. What will end up happening is something similar to the Vietnam war. The west will give up on Ukraine and stop funding it. After that, it's just a matter of time before Russia takes over the entire country. The Ukrainians will lose everything because they let their arrogance blind them to any logical thinking.

With 5000 a day after a year they would have none to recruit so even if they did it's not sustainable. But yes it's probably too big. Maybe when they started their broadend mobilisation they had a couple days approaching those numbers. But no way it is sustainable.

It's not that they are not listening, but instead they think they can do whatever they want everywhere at any given moment and the other side just has to bow down. Arrogance!

It's simple with regards to peace negotiations: 1. The russians want major concessions from Ukraine and the West. 2. The americans,CIA and elites will not accept a defeat and are willing to fight to the last ukranian, rather than make even small concessions. In fact a total russian victory is seen as not such a bad deal(more NATO military spending, Russia a bigger boogieman , etc). This is why they will propose only unacceptable proposals to the russians. 3. The elites in Ukraine cannot sign a peace treaty after the losses they made the country pay. The hardliners in the army will not accept any concessions because they are fanatical and prefer to either fight to the last man or at worst leave the country they turned dust. This is also why Ukraine does not even consider negotiations. The fact is most of the people in power just want to leave ukraine with the money they stole and never come back. The russians understand all these facts, this is why they constantly propose negotiations, since they are can declare themselves reasonable, while showing the depravitaty of their adversarries. The war will have a military solutions just like in Afghanistan and Vietnam: the army will collapse and the russians will walk right into Kiev,Odessa, and Lvov, while many people will flee and chaos will consume Ukraine.

There’s an interesting write up today from Andrew Korybko in which he talks about the significant build up of Ukrainian troops towards the border of Belorus…… there’s seems to be some evidence that there is an intention to go into belorus in order to develop a situation that will draw in the Russian forces and or achieve a reaction or rather overreaction by Russia in order to achieve NATO involvement indeed this situation is being led by the UK in terms of planning, the hope is to move far enough into belorus in order to create more favourable conditions for negotiations with Russia and or to take away troops and equipment from other areas and front lines to allow potential weak points created to be exploited by AFU in those areas….. there has been a lot of drone activity by Ukraine into belorus and some have been shot down….. it might be worth looking into this situation and the occurrences going on around there and the heightened tensions across both Ukrainian and Polish borders to Belorus…..
