F7 Fold - The BEST RGB light that I WOULDN'T BUY
Ғылым және технология
The F7 Fold is a new RGB light from Falcon Eyes with the unique feature of being able to fold in half. Along with a lot of other impressive features, is this the new king of pocket RGB lights or unnecessarily complex?

Nice review.....you would think they would supply a cable splitter so you can charge both panels at the same time with the same charger.

Yes even a split cable to run from a single power source would have been a working solution
Hi Dave, thanks for the review ! Can we turn on the light while charging it ? If yes, can we use it at full power while charging ? Thanks ! Best regards, Jeremie

You can use the light when charging however there seems to be some limits On normal light mode and in RGB the panels max out at 70% whilst on charge However the LEE & Rosco settings are still able to go up to 100% brightness (I think that it because they use a different combination of bulbs)

@@DaveMcKeegan Many thanks for your fast and precise answers !
Logically you have an allen key in the package to separate the two light and make them independant (you have thread on each one to mount them separately on tripod) : so perfect to have a 0/45 portable light

Yes you can which is what I've subsequently ended up doing since making this video ☺️

@@DaveMcKeegan The way I use them is kind of tricky, I work in photogrammetry (3D reconstruction based on photos) and I wanted to perfectly calibrate my colors with a dual illumant DCP profile ... they really are accurante to calibrate on a chart with a pin point Kelvin Temperature and I tested the calibration with different software and it pass Metamorphosis certification (for museum and archives) perfectly with a delta under 2% of color difference. With bulb light at the right temperature the delta was higher ... Other thing, yes they are really tanks ... they fall a dozen of times and always works :p
Cool vid

Thank you :)
Can you disconnect them?

I was thinking that too. There seems to be small screws at the hinges. Maybe you can even replace the current bolts with some kind of wing-bolts or thumbscrews so that you can disconnect them out on the field

Yes in principle they can be separated by removing the hinge ( just don't loose the hinges 🤣), although they then would be more limited with how they can stand up because they don't have any stands to prop them up
I paid about 35 bucks for flash shoe mountable LED lights in 2012 that were brightness adjustable and came with various different color filters. About 3x4 inches in size. Took 6 AA's. Still have them. Like new. Chinese, on Amazon. Back then it was a little miracle finding them as the lights in the camera shops were over a hundred each. Roommate snuck them off for a camping trip, drained the batteries. Never replaced them. Roommate a female.
