F4U Corsair Aircraft Windsock

I purchased this "what I thought was cool" F4U Corsair airplane windsock thingy a while ago and finally got it to being somewhat usable......or so I thought. I got the mount to stay pretty much stationary with the addition of the metal stake I made for it. It was blowing over almost every time I tried using the stakes that came on it. They are pretty much useless. But when it came down to actually working, well, that's another issue. We had a storm come through the area the very night I put it out and when I looked at it the next day the propeller had come off that bearing it was mounted to and the screws that were holding the aircraft to the mount were almost worked off too. I will have to put some loctite on them so the nuts don't work off again. It did try to move with the wind we had when I put it out the 1st time but it wasn't very consistent with anything. If anyone of you is contemplating getting one of these then I would have to advise you to look elsewhere for a better one. Don't get this one as it will be destroyed within a few weeks if you have the kinds of winds we have here in the spring. It is cool, don't get me wrong, but I am going to have to put some work into it if I want it to stay around for very long.

That's cool man 😁👍 Somebody put the insignia arrow backwards on the wing, but other than that cool.

I know, right!!!! I've thought about repainting it. You know they had one side done and mirrored it to the other side to make it easier on themselves. Lazy ass bitches man. You and I are always on the same page when it comes to projects. If you're going to half-ass something don't even do it. If you're going to do it, do it right.🤘😉
I always wanted to grab them ones in front of the confederate air museum in Mesa😂

It's a really cool idea, but it definitely needs some improvements on it to make it worth the effort. I am going to try and make this one better but we'll see. I always loved those ones at the museum too. Very cool and most likely worth the effort to take one.....just sayin'! 😉 😄👍
