The #97 decision is insane.

Honest opinion from you there Nigel. Completely bewildered by this decision and what has been explained from Ryan. What sport is run without an appeal, appalling. Our family was planning on coming over to the UK for September’s World Final from Aus and now cancelled our plans.

Used to race in the 70,s at nelson , rochdale etc i know times change and safety etc comes 1st but a years ban is very sad .. too harsh .. if this is the way forward brisca f1 RIP😢

Thanks for speaking your mind about 97. In this day and age too many people keep quiet. I don't wish to tempt fate, but it's good that there's much less car damage than last year 😃. I assume the first F1's had no power steering? If so, I wonder when the first driver introduced it to the sport? 🤔

I've got to say over Ryan's career most of his bans have been deserved but this one is absolutely bullshit. Fair enough if he had altered the damping/rebound ect then yes deduct points,fine or 4 week stand down but to ban someone for 12 months over bump stomps then really in all honesty the committee needs replacing as they are destroying the sport. Not only ryan,team and family business but his fans that pay the promoters gate price,people will stop going and then there is no sport...

Exactly, I tend to do Bradford’s plus world final only but what’s the point in going as without Ryan the shale meetings are going to be a procession for Tom so probably won’t bother

Purely based on what I've seen regarding the shocker ban. Seems harsh, in my opinion. From what i can gather Ryan had added three smaller bump stops. The only purpose of the bumps stop is to stop the shocker being damaged when being put under extreme pressure. As in the shocker bottoming out. I believe somewhere i read that the team had changed the shock mid meeting due to it being damaged. Was it purely a mistake, as in a shock meant for something else? Or was it the same as the damaged one? Either way, i don't see any advantage of what was done. Maybe I'm wrong? Either way you've hit the nail on the head.

Face fits racing, nothing changes, only the prices.

I agree with your point about it being more a hobby . I know they want to discourage cheating, but as prizes aren't exactly millions of pounds, those rubbers aren't exactly super critical . Also, not being allowed to repair things, what happened to their mission to reduce costs ? They'll be banning contact next !😢

Proper stockcar racing without power steering... Them were the days.... They on about cutting cost of stockcar racing but u can only use the shock out the box not make one good one out of the broken ones.... poor... Well done jakey on some good points 💪💪

The sport needs all its drivers otherwise it will die. Sheffield the racing may have been good but look how many stayed away. Does not bode good for next season as that must have run at a loss. Ryan is a major loss & well done Nige for speaking up what a lot of people are thinking

Thanks Nige… just to give a counterpoint… to me ‘tamper’ would mean altering any part of the shock / deviating in any way from the standard spec. ‘Repairing’ is different: fixing damage to restore to standard spec. Smarter chassis technicians than me tell me the bump stops play a part in shock characteristics and performance. I say this as someone with huge admiration for Ryan’s car construction and driving. As a fan I want to see him on track competing at the top level. So is a good outcome: Ryan apologises for any misunderstanding. Points and places docked from Bradford. Ruling is clarified (if necessary) and he returns to racing?

Whether you jeer him or cheer him, the sport needs Ryan Harrison. Would the powers that be pay attention to a fans' petition?

Awful what’s happened with Ryan and fear that’s it with him. Why would he put himself through it all again when it’s obvious certain people in power aren’t the biggest fans of him.

Absolutely devastated about Ryan,he’s probably the best shale racer out there and to ban him for 12 months and deprive the fans of a fantastic racer seems ludicrous,surely there’s a more appropriate punishment.

The shock has been tampered with end of there’s no denying it it’s there to see. It must make some advantage or he wouldn’t have swapped them would he. But to ban him for 12 mths is harsh like all have said. Just take away any points for that meeting and a month or two ban. I think what they have done will hurt the sport tbh (as Nigel said) and they should have a rethink about their decision. Also Unless the new rubbers were cut in half and glued back together around the shaft you would have to open the shock up to change them yeah 🤔 I’m no expert though just my thought.

I think you are on dangerous ground trying to personalise this.... There is no doubt that the shocker was tampered with... The rulebokk states that they should be in their standard form ie as they come in the box and not modified in any way... The punishment for doing so is an AUTOMATIC 12 month ban. These rules apply to ALL drivers... Now, unless you have evidence of other drivers caught doing it and not being punished ... Then you have mo arguement.... if he is pleadng ignoranc of the rule then personally i woukd find it astonishing that somone who is at the topbof the sport who builds and prepares cars for others and who supplies the things fir a livibg was unaware of it!!

Can't get my head round the 97 ban at all, loved or hated he brings crowds for sure and is a rubber tampering? Was there a good crowd for Monday night racing?

Ryan Harrison is just a target for the board because he's a hothead. This ban is twisting the rules to serve a purpose

BRISCA F1 shoot themselves in the foot again it seems to me, very sad and daft decisions. Everyone looses and the sport doesn't need own goals it is in decline anyway.
