How his brother and mother managed to stand there through all that, I will never know. The strength the pair of them displayed is admirable and then some. The drivers were incredibly dignified throughout an incredibly tough situation, George and Kimi looked absolutely distraught in particular and Lando handled that interview so well for a 19 year old. It feels so poignant that the drivers on the grid who knew him best, have all had incredible personal triumphs since - Charles taking his maiden win that same weekend, Pierre winning just over a year beyond his passing, Esteban winning for a French team for the first time in 13 years, and George (his F3 teammate) finally joining the winners enclosure at Interlagos. Rest in peace Anthoine.

@@ntutudlova4649 Of course I respect your feelings on the matter, it's a true shame without a doubt, but it's important to move on, and some people use humor to do that, and some people move on faster than others. I think it's fair to say that Anthoine would want the racing community to move on and laugh and enjoy racing and the atmosphere that comes with it as soon as possible. So I put no shame on Jeffrey for doing just that. Again I respect that you may not find it appropriate, but everyone has a right to move on and cope at their own pace, and shouldn't be told that they are doing it too soon. I was there when it happened. The atmosphere changed in an instant. From 30 degrees, blazing sunshine on the Saturday to about half that, overcast and looking like it was going to rain at any moment on the Sunday. Very emotional weekend.
if my son would have died i could not stand there. I deeply respect his mother & his brother 👏🏼👏🏼

Silence at a race track is something that is completely and utterly terrifying. Just watching this video sends chills down my spine due to me knowing the reason why it's silent. rip
Here from drive to survive season 3 and Gasly’s motivation is incredible following this incident. What a bloke
@mrdude9671

Yeah this completely changed him .
One year later , i am still crying for him .. rest in peace 💔💔

I was there almost one year ago... man time flies... My first ever f1 gp and suddently this happened... It felt like a nightmare come true. That silence, everyone was so shocked! After that saturday, racing in general felt totally different. RIP Antoine! we'll never forget you !
It looked like Gasly walked up to the helmet, which I'm sure he did, but I wanted to see it and they cut the camera.

Man, this still hits me hard as when it first happened,we were the exact same age probably split by a few hours maybe even minutes, since 2019 not only do I find myself thinking of Anthoine on our birthday and celebrate it completely differently even if I'm going through some hard times Anthoine pops into my thoughts and I think of how blessed I am to be here to have these hard times... Charles, Pierre and Esteban there 🥺 it must've been so hard for them to stand there and even to race after that 🤍 Also Charles' mentality to win that race a day after loosing his friend... Wow

Oh my. Even Kimi was sad.
You are so missed, Antoine. You always will be. ❤

Again, I mean you no disrespect. Much love man. May Anthoine rest in peace.

Him dying at such a young age leaves you wondering what would have become of him if he would have joined F1. The best scenario I can thing of is him becoming the next French F1 driver to become world champion after the great Alain Prost.
