The stadium part was insane because the cars had no downforce at all, so they would constantly slide around and drift through the corners.

I like how you used the 2014 Sauber to ensure the lap time would be as slow as possible

The V10 slowing down is still louder than the V6 going flat out.

Old hockenheim is way better than the new one on the PlayStation I loved the old hockenheim

I really miss the old Hockenheim with possibility to really slip stream and pass without DRS. And Barrichellos first win in the half track wet race in 2000

I don't think the new Hockeneheimring is a bad circuit but why for godness sake they had to ruin the old track? I can understand that the old track was getting too dangerous and maybe it wasn't that attractive for fans on circuit but I think F1 really needs some old Hock. type circuits. The new Tilkedroms can't the classics of Hockenheim, Spa or Silverstone.

If you think of it they had to cut down trees to make the new circuit so they probably destroyed the old one to make the tree hugers happy shame because if they really wanted more people to see the race they could have added another stand to the forest

Nope, the new one is a bad track. :) And it was attractive for the fans on the circuit too. By the way I prefer the new 1st corner to the old one. (I would make that even faster) And if we could bring back the old part of the track, then do it without the chicanes. :)

Máté Ágoston thats what makes an overtaking perfect. those ovals are bad because thats not overtakings, they just changes positions the whole time. boring. the chicanes are making the overtakings thrilling. go and watch indycar if you like that better but get your hands of great tracks with good chicanes.

Someone need to replicate this old hockenheimring...if not for F1, maybe for go-kart or any other formula serie..

Old Hockenheim wasn't that good, but it wasn't bad. No-one should've given Tilke this project, He can't realise that you could make racetrack without 10km of runout areas. The best thing about Hockenheim was going through the forest, He took away that part. Now it's like most of his tracks; a huge karttrack instead of a place where new-era history is going to be written...

Nah, that isn't his doing. He was told the new circuit would entirely avoid the forest and he had to work with the space he had. When he's given the space, he's made Istanbul and Sepang and even China is good, but then he made Abu Dhabhi which is Monaco with 2 straights. Abu Dhabhi was a huge waste.

eXileF he had no choice also the Highway cut straight threw the track and some roads. But roads where more important then a race track. Where i live. I've seen 3 amazing racetrack disappear from highways cutting threw.

The only pleasing thing about the new track is, that it totally flopped. And the Concept of making money with it did not work. So they are in depth. And I really hope that everyone who was evolved will get wracked in some way. destroying historic things for their money lust. :/ And of course, "green" people did the rest. Just to say one or two trees.

Why removing this lovely track?Just cut some trees to make more grandstands if that´s what they wanted! And i miss the old Silverstone with the Abbey Chicane as well.. Flatout through Bridge corner up to Brooklands

old hockenheim, bring it back

Tilke again destroyed a memorable track to make it a Mickey-Mouse track.

Pitty they ruin the old version. I loved this power circuit alongside Monza and Spa...

Looking at the left screen the entire video. Can you blame me? Its so much more interesting both audibly and visually.

The blast through the forest. We were happy with this layout. It was a unique challenge. Now it's just another circuit. If F1 ever want me back as a fan and possibly even willing to pay for a sky subscription, they need the old circuits and a drastic change of rules.

The first corner -- why does Tilke turn every corner into a kink? The old track would have been awesome for DRS zones.

I agree with you but it will be more fun if there's no DRS itself. It would be a Nascar-like racing where Cars fighting at the long straight. Except for the cars that's lapped +1 lap +2 lap or more. Sorry for my bad English

I used to oppose DRS (and I still think it's artificial), but these heavy downforce cars will never be able to follow each other as closely as NASCAR or even LMP cars due to the trailing car losing downforce in the corners. Also oval racing is very different, you can go three abreast in a banked turn and then come out neck and neck on a straight, you can never do that in F1.

What's your problem with the first corner? It became faster. And as I see Tilke is not a kink builder. Only a boring track builder.

I will admit up front that the old Hockenheimring was not my favorite track, for it was the track that killed my boyhood hero, Jim Clark. Bur after the old nordschleife circuit lost the German Grand Prix, I accepted the Hockenheimring as the legitmate home of the GrandPrix. However, after the 2002 redesign, they have ripped the guts out of the track. I have been a Formula One fan since 1963, but I will not watch the German Grand Prix as long as it remains at the shell of it's former self H-Ring.

i genuinely don’t think it’s coming back anytime soon, i’ve looked at montages of what the pre-rebuild Hockenheimring looks like, and it’s very sad to see such a legendary track (not just Hockenheimring, but other tracks that f1 have raced at previously) just discarded because of safety concerns, or if i had enough money to, i would try my best to get this track back to it’s glory days. it doesn’t look like Hockenheimring’s coming back to the calendar soon, either. such a historic track :(

The old circuit was better. Faster. There were 3 fast circuit Silverstone Hockenheim and Monza. Now only Monza has over 250 Km/h speed average

Missed old v10 sound

The old hockenheim was way better then the new one. I used to love blasting round it in the jordan peugeot and then jordan honda

The old was so much funnier. Used to be my favorite track.

I already like the old layout... overtaking seems much easier and doesn't have a corner that is really hard to get it right and fast

Old hockenheim....blammmmmblammmmmm fuck speedddddddddd brrrrakkeeeee rinse and repeat into the stadium. Setups were black and white......it had it's drawbacks but I wonder what the drivers thought. Kind of a Monza 2.0 idk new Hockenheim is tasty when you hook a lap in.

The engineers of the new racetrack should have kept the charm of the old ones. The silence of the forest and the stadium atmosphere of the Motodrom. Now it is one of the most boring tracks. New is not always better.
