WMJ, I wish we could just sit down and talk about the beauty of this game. I've always loved these games since I was a child, and now that I'm older, I've started to get into the advanced techniques. This stuff is so difficult and you make it look so easy. Thanks for taking the time to really master this game!

Thanks a lot. It was certainly a lot of work to put them all together and to make these demonstration videos but it was also a lot fun. Hopefully it will help out many players that want to learn the game.

I'm finally getting around to taking on the staff ghosts. Prior to now, I had only beaten the Silence ghost. I just got a 1'12"442 with the basic strategy for this course. Thanks, WMJ! :^)

Thank you so much for doing and sharing this. You cannot imagine how much I enjoy your videos. This game means a lot for me; in the 2000s at the age of around 10-12, I spent many afternoons on it and managed to master what you call "efficient driving" ie, for a given speed, finding the best turning angle before you lose grip, and managed Death Race in like 1 min or less ? thought one could barely do better, then in the last days saw your content.... drifting technique, DTD, railslide, waw... thanks for sharing, though its exploits for many, it really is beautiful, even more when you have an idea of the precision and complexity of the moves!!!!

These tutorials helped me beating all the staff ghosts. Thanks a lot wish there would be tutorials for the expansion kit as well.

thanks for the tutorial i'm having a blast learning this game. my 2nd day after picking this up i was able to beat the staff ghost with a low 1;12 on a modern xbox controller so it's definitely doable for emulator players :)

Playing on emulator is more difficult because emulators always have some inherent input lag. You definitely need some kind of USB controller, preferably an N64 one and calibrate the control stick well with it. F-Zero X makes full use of the sensitivity and range of the N64 control stick so very gradual and precise inputs are required. If you play it on a real N64 it will be much easier to keep the ship under control at great speeds. Using side attacks to turn at great speed and tap the accelerator button are some tricks to keep your grip.

For what you are saying is better a nintendo 64, because the way in which you control the ships is smooth, and with emulator that does not happen, so I'll have to buy one.
