F-Zero X Speed Run: Grand Prix Master Class beaten with Hell Hawk [Ultra HDMI]
this is the best machine in the game. most WRs are set with it. it has the best combination of stats for drifting out of all the available machines.
even though i had a few deaths, it was tied with my best run out of all the runs i did of GP so far.
i'm using the combined FZX + EK rom that has the newest english translation. it works perfectly using a 64Drive flash cart. if you want it, you can find it at: 64dd.org/
i took this chance to start a new save file here and complete Master with every ship since i want a save fully completed done by me. the game itself plays exactly the same as the regular cart + disk version.
i'm using an N64 with the UltraHDMI video mod installed. this lets me record the best possible quality from console and play well in a modern TV.

This is only an aside point, and might be an 'obvious point is obvious', but I love how the game never seems to have slowdown. It's as smooth as butter on warm toast.

that was a selling point back in the day. on a console where most games seem to struggle to maintain above 20+ fps consistently, then comes a game with solid 60 fps and no drops for 99% of the game.

@@MadaoJoestar The N64’s RAM bus and RAM are painfully slow. They had to do a crazy ammount of optimization to get it to run this smooth and stable even with simplified graphics.

I just appreciate the fact that Big Foot has DOOM music at the start.
Going with its Japanese name, I see. Always was weird to me how Blood Falcon calls himself the true Falcon, yet he names his machine after a hawk.

fun fact: in spanish both words refer to the same animals. we do not have a separate word to differentiate Hawk from Falcon.

Ah, so it's name would be, Halcón Sangre/Halcón Infierno.
I've been doing the X Cup for a while, and not the others. I'm pretty good with Novice and Standard modes, but I still can't do Expert or Master. I need better training tactics.

the games are completely different. it just happens to have really bad stats in gx.

no. in GX it's all about momentum and in X it's drifting. and as i said earlier, the games are too different to even be comparable. it'd be like trying to compare movement between Zelda OoT and Breath of the Wild.
