This is great but Nick lives right next to Gatsby in West Egg. Tom and Daisy Buchanan live in East Egg. The difference between the two is actually a big deal.

Very beautiful… such a layered novel Gatsby - my favorite. Have read it atleast 3 times so far. While the book is about the futility of American Dream, I think it is also about love and realizing it’s futility upon meeting the lover: “Possibly it had occurred to him that the colossal significance of that light had now vanished forever…His count of enchanted objects had diminished by one”

Tom Buchanan is the villain? That’s like dumbing down the nuances in the novel. If he’s the villain how’s Daisy not? Also, it’s 1925, you can’t judge a person or a novel with 2017 glasses. What you’re calling racism now was really normal then. And Nick and Gatsby are neighbours!!! Did you really read the novel to make such a huge mistake?
