HOLY FUCK. Mr. Zimmerman is one of my all time favourites, including Maxim Vengerov and Leonidas Kavakos, because every time I listen to his performance I am totally mesmerized by it.

In my opinion, Ysayë's sonatas for solo violin are still underestimated!

They are too hard for regular sympony players to play...I live in nova scotia and non of the sympony players could playeven 5 bars of any part of it...nova Scotia has super low standards....but they think they are awesome....most people in nova scotia have never left nova scotia....big fish,little pond here...

Undoubtedly one of the three best performances of Ysaye's third sonata ever played. Vengerov's performance and Josef Spacek's version are the other two.

Guess it’s down to individual taste but I agree. He captures the surreal as well as the virtuosic atmosphere of the piece so well not to mention the richness and colours in his sound. Vengerov’s is perhaps more breathtaking but to me this is the most ‘complete’ rendition of this piece I’ve heard.

C'est bien mais trop de glissades dans les demanchés. C'est bien pour la sûreté de l'intonation mais parfois cela rajoute des appuis qui ne sont pas très heureux musicalement.
