Omotesenke-ryu [表千家流] tea class [virus tea] July 3, 2021. For our students we are videoing our class so they can have some tea experience during the emergency. Since there is just the two of us there are some limitations on what we can do. This video shows nochizumi, the rebuilding of the fire between thick and thin teas.
The tana we are using is the itomaki niju dana. This tana was devised by Rokurokusai the 11th Iemoto.
The mizutsugi used is Rikyu’s style with a spout cover. Omotesenke also uses one without the cover.
