Tai is right. Evidence shows that it takes 10,000 hours doing something to master it. Most pilots only have 5,000 hours in the air. I have found that in business that it takes 5-10 years of 2,000+ hours a year to even start to dominate and once you realize that technology and trends shift every 5 years now it is almost impossible stop learning and still succeed. You have to keep changing what you know and become a life long learner.

  • @metoowahl

Gordon Miller it depends on how fast you learn naturally. that is the KEY INGREDIENT. If someone says that it takes so many hours to learn something in a book, it's only because they invented it and making money off it. I'm not saying this to discredit him or to put him down because he sounds like a good person. but if someone is doing all the talking, who is doing all the work. I don't think for one minute that he built the mansion he lives in. but my question is, Could he survive without the money or the credibility of his surroundings? I have a lot of questions for him????????

  • @GordonMiller

Matthew, having been in "the game" for almost 30 years now, the 10,000 hour rule has nothing to do with how fast you learn, it has to do with direct experience and being naturally exposed to various scenarios. I have over 60,000 hours of experience and I am still learning something new every day.

He is 100% right about the training. The people who are great at what they do, are great because they are constantly putting their time, energy and work into what they do. Day and in day out, they are working on their goal and always striving to improve and be better. They are not talking about it, they are working towards it. When it comes down to it, everyone has the potential to make money. Everyone has the ability to be successful. It all comes down to you though. If you are willing to put in the work, then you will reap the rewards. You cannot however expect success without putting anything into it. You cannot expect to be rich without producing anything of value. I believe that no matter what stage you are in life, the learning never stops. We can always learn how to be better. We can always learn how to improve. That is why I do not believe there are masters, because even a master can learn from a student. We can all learn from each other. We can all help each other. And we can all ultimately lead healthier, happier lives.

You hit the nail on the head! This video really hit me and it hit me quick. Pride can only get you so far in life. People wanna bullshit you because "they wanna have a delusional because they didn't succeed." You have to train and train for years to become the best. Just like one of the best movie "A Bronx Tale" says "be one of the greats ones." It wont happen overnight either. Many people think because they don't master what they are training in, they decide to quit. Like Tai says, the world tends to handicap us instead of telling us the authentic truth about life. This video definitely changed my life and my perception on life. I started building my business and this is what I needed to hear, not the bullshit lies society told me.

I’m glad there are people like you and Dan Peña out there to remind people that hard work, hyper focus/obsessiveness, training, DOING, STARTING, and finishing the process to acquire growth is consistency combined with forbearance plus experiential wisdom gained combined with others downfalls you pick up on so in other words apply what works best for you and recycle what you can’t utilize. Thanks for sharing man. I appreciate the empowerment because truth based knowledge is more empowering than propaganda bullshit. Thank you wholeheartedly for everything you share with those who dare attempt to shatter their own paradigm in order to change their perspective on what it means and what it takes to accomplish whatever endeavors you are focused on. Systemize. Training. Assessment. Research. Time. Investment. Net. Gains. S.T.A.R.T.I.N.G. Is the process to finish closing up the cost of losses because we’re losing time by not applying what we receive from amazing finishers like Tai Lopez. Side note he’s profoundly generous with his experiential wisdom we should all be grateful. I am humbled 💯 Thanks for inspiring, motivating, guiding, sharing, and for all you do bud. Kudos.

Tai a phrase you said in one of your KZread videos made a world of a difference: Do you have a backbone or a wishbone? I was once the girl who had affirmations all over the apt, even in my car, on my computer's screen saver, at work and spent so much on romanticising "visualization" but I was not taking action to produce the desired result. Lived pay check to pay check while my income wasn't so bad, but would spend it on food, outing, entertainment, vacations. I was basically just wishing for things to manifest itself without me sacrificing. Now as an Amazon seller, I read everyday about internet marketing and business books, while taking consistent bold actions that scare me. I take calculated risks, expecting great ROI and 80% of the time thats exactly how it turns out. I can basically identify with Mohammed Ali's approach. Believing yourself and all the affirmations in the world will not manifest anything. Consistent Action is mandatory.

You have some solid wisdom and advice and I'm obsessed with watching your videos and taking notes. I'm currently reading The Magic of Thinking Big for the 2nd time and it's gold. I'm an elementary teacher by day, and a learning factory at night. I want what you have. Thank you for your contribution to the world!

+matmc71 lol you are so deluded. luck has the smallest role in any success. and it is easy to be successful, just put in the effort day in and day out. what's hard is actually committing to the end result of that effort, just because you don't have the will power to do so doesn't make it very hard or even that successful people got lucky. you are exactly the kind of haters he despises.

+matmc71 yeah but its not like the lottery. that's why I said luck plays a very small part. it gives you that opportunity, but the rest 99% is your effort and hard work

love tai lopez. he say things I really appreciated it because people nowadays are too scare to talk about it. Even I'm about to graduate with my first college degree at 22, I'm still going to always progress in life until I achieved happiness in life of wealth, happiness and not be a slave to a society of working zombie until I die. If a better opportunity come up then I will be not be working with my college even though it could be a waste but those 4 years I learned a lot of real world stuff and how people act out which is helpful but my degree for now it a stability of finance to keep going to keep me alive and fed. So I'm still young. I came to almost homeless at 7 years old to 22 years almost having something being raise by a single mom. peace out KZread ppl 👍

I like the Directness of the Video. People tell me I have talent. I tell them I've been drawing since 3 out of necessity. I am an imigrant kid and my parenys were too poor to buy me toys. So I drew them on paper anf played with my cut outs. My life has been the dame formula. I know nothing, but Im not afraid of that. I know bboys who train 24 7 and are very technical. But they lack the Charisma. I love hitting the gym and training, but likr you said the world is harsh. its not about nelieving in youreself. But more about keeping focus on thr vision and striving hard towards it. I have big dreams but Im willing to put in thr hours at the tegular jobs till it happens. All things in time. But I do feel you, some people really need to get kicked into gear. Thank You for reaching out and droping gems. Excited about thr 67 steps.

As always...YOU ARE RIGHT ON TRACK! I'm so tired of hearing so many people to just, "believe in yourself"..."you just have to have hope"...So, THANKS! Vast numbers of people SHOULD and NEED to hear this real life-lesson video. Again, a million thanks for being REAL and UPFRONT. Wish that I could have heard this years ago, and not at 50 years old.

Speak the truth man...I wish more people would talk to me like this... I feel like I am looking in mirror watching you man. You have just been doing longer. I train everyday at least 3 hours trying to make it to MLS (for starters)... Watching things like this, just want to make me train 6 or 7 hours. I never went to college. I am 22 years old. Tai, you are so right. I see it everyday.

Tai, you teach many lessons. This is another lesson. People will agree or disagree but not many people will change their ways nor improve. I do look up to you. If I ever have an opportunity be one of your students I'd be honored. If I were to train with you, or anyone for that matter, would you be willing to learn from their perspective? There's something to learn from everybody, just some have more experiences than others...

I practice like crazy DJing 2 hours a day, 4 hours of listening to music from every KZread Channel/record label I can find every day and recording 1.5-hour mixtapes on a monthly to weekly basis. My parents tell me that trying to be a superstar DJ (like Steve Aoki or TJR) is absolutely ridiculous and I should give up but I don't listen. MOTIVATION???

I agree. It's constant and consistent effort that ends up paying off. Having faith in the process. I don't talk about something in my videos until I have applied it in my life. In no way, do I claim to be an expert, I just share my views and opinions and people find value in them. I feel like, having a BELIEF in your self along with humility has helped me a lot. Unconditionally accepting yourself is important because it is that mentality that carries you forward and into training. One thing people start with though, is START small. Want to be great at guitar? Learn scales. Practice.

That was great. Thank you Tai. I have been putting off the morning runs and the extra reps, but not anymore... I have always been told to work hard for what you want to achieve, but this video really just flat out told me to get up and go. If something is really worth you working for then work for it, because the moment you decide to not work for it is the moment you allow the competition to pass you, so don't spend your time congratulating yourself and spend more time working towards truly mastering your craft. So glad I found this video.
