Thank you this brings back so many memories, I walked the same path with you at least 10 times. People usually walk straight but just like you when I first came to Fushimi I always chose that path across the bamboo. This brings back so many memories because the first temple I visited was Fushimi Inari and I used that path to walk to the top of the mountain. I love this path so much because it offers so many things the main path can offer you, a pack of 10 cats, 1000 years sakura tree, a little bamboo forest, and small temple logs people cut down places across the road. Not to mention it was less crowed with people and you have so much space for your peace. It's always special to me, I did cry a little when I saw this, it's already 4 years since I came to Japan.

How long does it take to walk this longer route you took through Kobogataki, Oiwa, Mitsurugisha, and around? There is so much more beauty to Fushimi Inari-taisha that I never knew about! Your cinematography is inspiring =)

yes, we discovered this path more or less by accident when we went there in 2017 it was way too crowded for our taste on the main path that we went off track a bit and suddenly stumbled upon it, ending up enjoying it more than the main path because it felt like a little secret of the mountain :)

Thank you for your dedication in waking up early to capture the serenity of the area minus the tourists. Hoo-boy! I've been waiting for this one. It helps to get up early. Even during Covid there are still people there. The hidden treasures that the crowds never see are illustrated by your remarkable eye. The spider webs catching the dawn sunlight (4:13) is so cool! As always, there is so much more to see. I love the path to Aokigataki and the further shrine at Oiwa (8:17 to 9:31). Once you return to the downward path, there is that amazing shot at 10:35 and again at 11:38 and again at 11:56. Your choice of music is a wonderful accompaniment to your images. Thank you, Anna for another excellent video. Tokyo Lens went there at midnight and got an amazing video as well.

Thank you for uploading this wonderful video. I hgave entirtely enjoyed watching it. Actually, I always visit this route at midnight (around 02:30). I did the yellow reflective tape and luminous tape on top of the utility poles along the route. As a back route of Fushimi Inari Taisha and Mt. Inari, there is also a course from the Mt, Inari trailhead on the Yamashina Ward side to Ichinomine, and a mountain course between Kiyotaki Falls Shrine and Shirataki Falls Shrine, so please visit if you have the chance. Stunning! I visited Fushimi Inari-taisha in the late 1990's, before it was on the tourist radar. I had the whole mountain almost entirely to myself that day.

Thank you for the clip. I miss this place. The very first time I walked there from “Kawaramachi eki”. ( It took me about 2-3hours to get there.) The first impression when I arrived was there were lots of tourists almost all over the world. I still remember vividly there were some French people, I bumped into some many times in different places, which made me wonder that they were on the vacation then.

This place is famous for the god of commerce, I visited here with my grandma 60 years ago. I vaguely remember that if you pass under a crooked tree, you'll get good luck. Also, I sometimes dream of old Kyoto Station pillars riveted rails and deck-type trains without doors.

So otherworldly, really shows how human input, even minor, can shape the perceptions of how we move around an environment, and is also a lesson in urban design about curiosity and comforting enclosure
