There was absolutely no reason for this logo to be this damn loud! Imagine being a 5 year old putting in a TMNT video for the first time and the speakers on your TV explode! I avoided any tapes made by them for the longest time.

That synth whine/fart was loud and sudden after a long stretch of silence during the very start of the video. It always caught you off guard. Especially when your parents turned the volume up, thinking the native volume of the video was going to be too quiet.

God, I miss being a kid in the 80s!

F, H, E… It’s in the game!

Scared me a lot when I was little. But hey, at least we got some really good stuff after; like Transformers, Thundercats, TMNT, GI Joe, ETC. So in the end, it WAS worth it.

Speed Racer: The Movie

I woke up in a cold sweat and randomly remembered this noise at the beginning of my Frosty the Snowman VHS. I went hunting for it, but all of the recordings I found of Frosty the Snowman’s VHS had a newer FHE logo. I didn’t realize that my particular VHS was older than most, which makes it pretty rare in a sense. Now if only my grandpa hadn’t hidden it when I was 8 after years of overuse lol

So incredibly nostalgic. I remember this logo coming up on several VHS tapes that I had when I was a kid and every single time I saw this logo I knew the movie was going to be epic

When I was a kid anytime this would show up, afterwards I’d always shout “FFFFHHEEEEEEEEE” as if it was a word or something…….😢

I was born in the paintbrush logo era (1992) but remember seeing this logo on old tapes they showed at my elementary school around 1999-2001. July 16, 2023 5:27 am

@@marvinthemaniac7698 yes true story. Well my parents were the ones who bought it. They even had a big lit up sign up and everything below the gas prices. The gas station must've closed no more than 6 months after that.

I remember this fondly from my "War of the Dinobots" Transformers VHS. This and the PSX bootup jingle are amazing.

I collected Ninja Turtle tapes when I was a kid.

I was born in 93 and as a kid I got exicted when this came on because I knew it was probably a TMNT VHS that just got popped in.

I'm an 02' kid and remember this horrifying logo on my VHS tapes growing up. That, the BBC one and the swirly hit entertainment one.

Actually, this logo ran from 1985 to 1991, not 1986. This can seen on VHS releases of shows such as "The Transformers", "G.I. Joe", "Inspector Gadget", "ThunderCats" "Jem", "Potato Head Kids", "Rambo", "Pound Puppies", "Teen Wolf", and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", some Rankin-Bass VHS releases and later VHS releases of "Gumby" and "Care Bears". Also spotted on the Chuck Jones releases of "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi", "Mowgli's Brothers", and "The White Seal". A few Japanese anime tapes like "Robo-Tech", "Maple Town" or some tapes of British cartoons like "Wil Cwac Cwac" and "Roobarb", and the Australian "Dot" cartoons should have this logo, too. It also appeared on "The World of Strawberry Shortcake", "Strawberry Shortcake and the Baby Without a Name", "Strawberry Shortcake Meets the Berrykins", "Strawberry Shortcake: Housewarning Surprise", "The Wild Puffalumps", "Clifford the Big Red Dog", "Mad Scientist", "The Family Circus: A Special Valentine", "The Adventures of the Little Koala", and many others.

+susanfit47 I was correct but Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Clifford the Big Red Dog went to DVD while Strawberry Shortcake, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Inspector Gadget (and its' sequel), ThunderCats and Jem all have their own DVD releases which in turn become released by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, Warner Home Video, Buena Vista Home Video (through Walt Disney Home Video) and Shout! Factory.

I remember this from my Transformers tapes. Great days! I’d give almost anything to go back.

I remember this on GI Joe tapes my dad would rent.

Used to redraw this logo all of the time in Elementary School.

Same-I had the original VHS from F.H.E. The DEG and Sunbrow logos came after this. My only grip was the negatives used were too dark in certain scenes leaving some background characters hard to see. The best home version to me is the 20th anniversary version released by Sony. The colors are brighter (Hot Rod appears closer to pink in some scenes) but the negatives are much clearer and crisper than the previous home releases.

The reason I could not spell "The" in the first grade. Because this was on all my VHS tapes

I remember this from the “Gumby” videos.

You could have your TV’s volume set to 1 and this segment would still blow out your eardrums

Family Home Entertainment soon became extinct as Lionsgate bought out Artisan Entertainment in 2004. Jem, Transformers, G.I. Joe and 2 popular cartoons went to Shout! Factory while ThunderCats, Strawberry Shortcake, Teen Wolf and Inspector Gadget went to TimeWarner, Paramount Pictures Corporation, 20th Century Fox Film Corporation and Mill Creek Entertainment. I'm not sure about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Clifford the Big Red Dog because those are released by Lionsgate who also did Bratz, Barbie, Maya & Miguel, Beverly Hills 90210, Sabrina the Teenage Witch (TV Movie), Grace Unplugged, Angelina Ballerina (a British cartoon) and half of the Disney catalog on DVD.
