The beginning and ending is a Russian Folk Song sang by Zhou Shen using Russian and Chinese. He is so uniques artist who never shows off his technique instead he always uses his technique and his tone to serve the song itself. Every detail seems to be carefully thought and perfectly executed. So tasty.

My personal interpretation of why merging the two songs here: The Russian song in the beginning and in the last 2 sentences reflect that the core part of the story (i.e. the reggae part) happened a long time ago. So it gives a reminiscence mood before the main story is told. The Reggae part describes the heartbreaking departure and the depressing feeling during that story. Just my personal interpretation. No right or wrong answer, unless Charlie discloses anything about the thoughts behind this production.
