but why? I can understand how lazy mothers have possibly made you feel this way in modern times because some use it as an excuse for personal gain and are selfish and in reality are not good mothers and use the men in their life without fulfilling their duties as mothers and wives first. but in older times families were more tribal based and community oriented, which is also why polygamy was more popular over monogamy during those times. The difference between then and now is that the "community" factor is no longer there. As a society we have become very much seperated in day to day life. I cant speak for the whole world of course, but here in the U.S. for example, things have drastically changed. Industrialization... Economic changes etc... Back then all the women of the village would help each other care for their kids while the men went out and hunted gathered built shelters protected them etc. Monogamy played a part in changing that dynamic in society and now women dont have the help that they once had (maybe some do and are blessed with a close family, friends) but raising children on your own is a very difficult task. and that goes for single parents or married ones. I am not saying monogamy destroyed society and that polygamy rules by any means... I also wish more people would refer to it as a duty vs a job because that sounds so transactional but I guess some things in life are just that way by nature haha but it is literally what women and men are designed to do. Procreate. These "roles" dont have to be the same for everyone because there are so many more factors at hand these days, but the dynamic has been around for a long time. Have children, nuture them, teach them, and raise them... The men going out to hunt harvest and bring home the food etc is the same as them going out and making the money at a job today for the women to be able to stay at home and take care of the children and raise them with proper morals and teach them how to be responsible intelligent individuals that will eventually integrate into society. And of course there are certain things the father should be instilling into those children as well. Both are equally important and neccessary. This is why the saying "it takes a village to raise a child" exists. Its no easy task and should be respected no matter who is doing what. If anything, it is a blessing and there are some out there that can't have this and would love to be able to. Just sharing my insights. I see this comment come up alot on these types of videos and I wish more would take all this into consideration before saying this. but thanks for listening to my ted talk, I am not good with TLDR versions when commenting on something I am passonate about LMAO
