F-350 4x4 Ambulance converted to a beautiful Expedition Truck Camper

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It feels great to finally show you Andy's ambo after hanging with him at expo all these years. Believe it or not, not much has changed in those years, which means he did it right the first time! What do you think of his awesome rig?!

As paramedic I kind of have an affinity to the ambulance builds. Even though you didn’t notice, I noticed he had left the original cabinets in place. Decent build.

Good point, I would imagine in your case you may want to gut the whole interior! Or just build something else, I could see that being weird for a paramedic! Thanks for sharing your perspective

In the world of solo camping, this video is a visual manifesto. Solo overlanding becomes a declaration of freedom, where the solo camper's journey echoes in the rustling leaves, the open skies, and the distant horizons.

We will be transfering all running gears over to the ton ambulance so we can have a more versatile and stronger machine. Capable of camping or living comfortably. Van is a 2004 so there will be some changing for the 6.0 to 7.3 power stroke diesel.

Awesome build man! I have a trial and error build 2017 4Runner that has a pile of coin in it, I wouldn’t dare guess what this one cost. It really isn’t about that though. For me at least it’s a way to get the family out and actually enjoy it. I can settle for a fire and a saddle blanket. You really did a great job of transforming it, I first thought it was a boutique build. I love it. Do you find the size a limiting factor? Cheers

I have one of those! 2003, after a half-century of make-do camping in lesser rigs, we built our ExpeditionVehicle on a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck. Over two decades full-time live-aboard. . 1968, at 16yo, I left high-school for the trades program at the local junior-college. Welder-fabricator. 1970, I fabricated titanium components for submarines. 2023, I bid on a contract fabricating tungsten surgical components... us$250 hourly, plus us$300 per diem. They are happy with my hourly, countered at two-fifty per diem... ... although we live a ten-minute walk away from the shop.

@Down2Mob I know of 10 companies that invested in them back in the early 2000's and they still have several not running sitting around out back that became far to expensive to have the engine repaired on after 150k. And yet I have 6 different 94 to 97 Cummins powered Dodge trucks that all run and drive. The 7.3 reliability record is WAY better than the 6.0 but it has nothing on a 12 valve Cummins except that it is more difficult and expensive to repair.

He got stranded a long ways from home when the fuel injection pump crapped out and the local Ford dealer said the warranty wouldn't cover it and wanted 10k to fix it. He sold it to the dealer and went home and spent some time and money on maintenance for his 12 valve CUMMINS powered Ford crew cab that had NEVER left him stranded. Facts are facts.
