Frank Tallman was a legendary movie pilot, who teamed with fellow movie pilot Paul Mantz, to form Tallmantz aviation in 1961. Despite having a leg amputated due to an infection, he was able to reaquire all of his FAA certifications, and continue his movie flying career. Sadly, after flying and crashing scores of airplanes before the camera's, and accumulating over 20,000 hours of flight time, he was killed in 1978, when his Piper Aztec impacted Bell Ridge, in the Santa Ana mountains, while flying in bad weather.

I met Mr. Tallman, and admired his determination to fly again after losing a leg. And I was lucky enough to see the collection at Tallmantz/Movieland...

Back when interviewers asked intelligent questions.
