The F-100D is very much a fighter-bomber these days; you might have better success flying it as CAS for ground RB (if you have any tanks of similar BR). Barring that, you are generally a second-line fighter; you don’t want to get engaged in the initial merge, let your good cannons and Sidewinders get work in after the first volleys go off.

Very well said, it is certainly a second line fighter. A very good one at that, but certainly not a first line fighter in most cases (aside from full downtiers)

Another point that may help marginally is to turn off the radar gunsight; the function of it is generally redundant unless you are flying in Sim, and having it off will keep you from pinging on enemy RWRs.

It can be a very fun plane when given the right circumstances, challenging to break out of a bad situation in it though

I find if I go up about 5,000 meters or below is the sweet spot without leaving a contrail. Which is a bit over 16,000 ft. I like it because it gives me altitude without giving me away. Just a thought. 😁

Ye that makes sense, high enough up to avoid most all of the Su-25s / A-10s / A-6Es while still being low enough for more optimal turnrates, I will have to try that next time around

loved the vid, extremely comforting voice. nice gameplay aswell. what realy got me was the slowmotion shots when u scored, the second one where u fly upside down, holy shit that looked clean.

I had one game where I took out my F5c and I clipped a tree with my right wing, still flying, headed back to base and the enemy shot me up and too out my right wing, using my tail and engines I made it back to base and denied a kill. It was awesome, I was surprised that he didn’t come back to finish me off. BUT in another game I had only one of my wings shot off and some critical damage to my plane and STILL made it back to base only for the game to declare me dead. I was NOT happy bout that esp when I made it back, but oh well.

Something similar happened to me somewhat recently where I was critically damaged with a wing missing and heavy overall damage (some kinda jet I do not remember which), I flew back to the airfield, landed safely and then was immediately J'd out due to the change they made in what can and cannot be repaired anymore (a few months back) lol

@@jfletcher3285 I know they nerfed airfield repair capabilities at some point somewhat recently, but I do not yet exactly how far the extent goes of what can / cannot be repaired anymore (I think being counted as dead with *severe* damage is all that is effected) (they might have changed it back since idk tbh)

I also use 2 mighty mouse rockets pods when I fly this out. Really saved me multiple times and makes it more survivable so you can keep fighting effectively.

i really would love to see what itd be like if you put a better engine, modern radar and better aim9's on and see how well it could keep up to say a f-16

I like playing because of the vehicles in the games irregardless if some of the turn out or the long grind. Esp top tier vehicles. I have an USA hstvl and it’s a b@&$h to grind when you have no thermals and a sabot round that doesn’t do one shot kills at 11.3. Every once in a while I can one shot someone but not that often. I love scouting more though if I play it right.

It handles like a pig, accelerates like a tortoise, sheds speed like a brick in the wind, and the 20mm's are VERY unpredictable... Only saving grace is the 9E's.

I just die to MiG-21s looking for easy kills every match...

everything from 9.3 up is pretty much a struggle buss in an up-tier, pair that with no flares, mediocre airframe, and mediocre kit and you get a recipe for mig21 food. At least the guns work though

It is always a bummer to get into a cool, older, once top-tier jet in that 9.3-10.0 range only to get slammed by an all-aspect 30g pulling modern missile the moment you get into combat lol

You can customize that in the settings, iirc you can choose from basically any combinations of things (like I use for example)

The F100A is better in almost every way tho. Lighter, faster (dont trust the planes cards) with a way better acceleration between zero and Mach 1.

Like most vehicles in this game,thus plane is barelly useable.Its NOT meta. So when gaijin advertise the game using "over 2 000 realistic vehicles" phrase,rake it with a pinch of salt.Only 20% of those vehicles are meta,good at what they do.
