    you can take it out, just find a bolt that is slightly smaller than the hole and put a nylon nut and double washers on it with red lock tight and call it a day.

    The gears you installed on that rear end is that small bearing or large bearing ?

    My Gears are a 6 to 1 ratio with a 1.575 diameter shaft, which is 1994-1997. In 1998 they switched to a 1.378 diameter shaft.

    My great uncle has an EZ go txt. It seems to not be engaging at the rear transmission now. The CVT is working flawlessly. I tried operating the linkage by hand but to no success. Looks like something is wrong with those throw weights.

    what year is it? single or dual cable ? I have the single cable for shift linkage and I had to replace all the little springs and washers for linkage at the transaxle. check those. like a $12 fix if its the issue

    If your going to split the case. Can’t you u pull the tubes and pull the tubes off without pulling the rear drums and shafts? Curious as I think it would be easier. Unless I’m missing something. This is a question. Not sarcasm lol

    I believe you could, however it is a pain in the ass to try and get the axle shaft to line up and get the splines back into the locker, I actually just split my case for the third and final time to change out the ring gear to a 6:1. I just put it back in the cart last night and got everything mounted up only thing I need to do is install my new brake cables because I replaced pretty much everything with all new shit along with the lift as well

    Ok, so the answer to your question I actually just had to do it myself and I figured I would give it a shot. I had to take my rear end back out because I did not remove my shift fork ball and spring from the case before I put the case back together and resulted with wedging my fall and spring internally inside the case so I had to take it back apart and fix it. That being said I tried only removing the axle tubes from the case and removing the case only, major pain in the ass much easier to do it by taking out the entire rear end not only is it easier but even trying to get the axle bolts perfectly lined back up without cross threading is a nightmare. I hope that helps

  • @keithellett4283

    @keithellett4283

    My opinion would be if you removed it, its one less thing to fail. So I believe it would most definitely be beneficial to remove it. Now that being said I have taken my rear end apart many times and still have my factory governor in place with zero issues (knock knock). I went from the factory gear ratio to 8:1 and now to 6:1. my cart can run speeds close to 40mph, I wouldnt take it apart just to remove it unless your ready in there for something else. Hope this helps

    Predator 670cc with a 507cam,billet connecting rods, push rods, mikuni Carburetors, Valve springs. And the governor out of the motor. All the parts are from performance 670. It might be more around 60mph not sure (just make sure you check you steering linkage if you do this so it don’t break and you lose steering.

    Went from 26 mph with the stock gears and stock Robin motor, installed the VC swing arm with the Predator 22 and mph when down to 20-22 at 5000 rpm, then I installed the 8:1 gears and we got it back up to around 29-30 mph.

    @@keithellett4283 Mine did same thing when I did motor swap it was doing 30 mph on flat ground but struggled climbing the hills on the road as well as trails through the woods . I did predator swap and it was like a 4 wheeler climbing hills and took off like a rocket but ran out of rpm at 20 mph so I ordered the 6 to 1 gears and we will see here soon how it does. It will lose some takeoff but the predator motor has plenty of torque behind it to over come the higher gearing that the robin motor couldnt produce .
