Thanks for the video! With the help of my brother-in-law, this 67 year old man just installed a 6” lift just like the one you installed. Great tip about the leaf springs on the rear. Only took us 3.5 hours. Very good information!!

This video is going to come in super handy when my gear arrives! Thanks!
Good job! Very simple and the camera was always on the job, without music or excessive talking. I enjoyed it!!
Ignore all these people and their fancy tools. Not all of us have the means to hire someone to do jobs like this and we don’t have the means for that fancy smancy stuff. You did a great job! My kind of mechanicing. Video was very helpful.

Excellent job and please post more projects that have your interest because many others share the same interest... You did more than lift your cart, you lifted the confidence for others to lift their cart too. That's a three point fact. Best of luck. Brian

Well done! I'm new to golf carts and wanted to commend you on an excellent how-to video. As well would like to ask about the cart in the video. Is that engine/drivetrain setup factory or something you installed? I'm currently working on installation of a gas engine setup, replacing the factory electric setup on a late 90's model EZGO and if you could do a walk through of yours, that'd be great. New subscriber, keep up the good work.

Thanks for watching and subscribing! I sold the cart so I can’t take a walk around video unfortunately but I remember just about everything I did to it. It was originally electric and I converted it to gas using a Duromax engine and a torque converter kit with a much larger sprocket than what comes with the kit. I used a 40 chain with a chain tensioner made by monster craftsman. At the time those could be bought on eBay. I used the old electric motor but cut off the armature and had just the shaft with a sprocket welded to the shaft for the chain. That was probably the hardest part other than getting everything lined up perfectly. Let me know any other questions!

Great video. Just ordered this kit today. Question: you flipped the U bolts over when you installed the lifting blocks. Did the instructions say to do that? Or is that something you recommend?
@TimothysTractors

Thanks! I think I just did that to make it easier to tighten the nuts since they'd be easier to get to on the top.

@@TimothysTractors makes sense. Thank you.
I work with computers and have little experience working on things like this. I was wondering if any type of grease should be going on to these bolts when reinstalling and also would it make sense to replace those small rubber bushings since you already have everything off?
@TimothysTractors
2 ай бұрын
I put grease on the bolts that were used with bushings and would move, but not on anything else that was just part of assembly. The bushings can be a pain to replace, but yes, it may have been easier to just go ahead and do it while I had it somewhat taken apart. Recently, I’ve discovered it is easiest to replace all the bushings front and back when the cart is flipped on its side

Is this an electric cart you’re lifting? I have a gas cart and wondered if this kit will work for me. Informative video
@TimothysTractors
8 ай бұрын
@@btsue5606 Yes, it was an electric frame. I did convert it to a gas cart but didn't modify the frame any so I used a kit for an electric cart. Not sure what the difference is if there is any but none of the listings say gas AND electric.
Gangster !
Good job overall but please use a torque wrench with the suspension bolts and not rely on a small impact and by all means,,,Lose the vise grips 😂. All of those steering and suspension bolts have a specified torque rating in the tech manual.
What size wheels did you go with on this 6" lift kit? TIA

I have a Jake's on my ez go....ots horrible. Such a bumpy ride. How do you soften up the suspension on one of these dogs?
@TimothysTractors
Жыл бұрын
Hmm. I would probably start by making sure your tires aren’t overinflated. That can make a really bumpy ride. Sometimes on a lifted cart I’ll leave the tires a little low purposely for a better ride. If that doesn’t help, maybe your shocks are worn out?
@mrpush2532

@@TimothysTractors yes I drive w them low already....doesn't help. Cart has little hours on it so wouldn't suspect bad shocks but will have to test them I guess. Thx
