AY PINOY!!!" it's like by seeing that he's white our co Filipino appreciated him but after knowing he's Filipino "Ay Pinoy" is like saying "what? You're filipino?" in a looking down manner. And we Filipinos are not so known to appreciating our own. We've only just learned how to appreciate ourselves. and that is what the line is abt. :)
