He was talking about “Freeze” at the end. It’s his song with club beats but his lyrics is about exposing the industry.
Stevie hit it on the nail. In Philippines we use Negro as a color a place and even our ancestors. Im from a place in the philippines called "Negros Occidental" and the first filipinos were called Negritos. As time comes by pure filipino blood start to mix with neighboring Asian and spanish colony. Thats why we filipinos come in different shades. Thanks Stevie for your reaction.
Brilliant flow... respect from 🇬🇧

FYSA: in the tagalog lyrics, he mentioned that in the Philippines, it was easy and okay for us to say the word "negro" and call our buddies that word, (kahit sa tabi, bro) even in the corners/alleys, because the Philippines being a Spanish colony, the word literally means black. and the Filipinos being dark skinned and all, were also being called negroes (negritos, short black people) or indio (indigenous) by the colonizers. so that's why, when he immigrated to the States, he was really shocked that black-American people were offended by the "N" word. also, the reason why he composed that bar in Tagalog, his native language, is so as not to offend anybody. he kept it open for translation specially for his international fans. to be translated by his Filipino fan base.
Hes got skillz no auto tune and sounding great on the melody. With flowz that inspire thought and feelin aint nowhere his career cant go.

To all our Black Family/Friends and EZ's fans here in Social Media about the "NEGRO" word that EZ MIL was spitting.Dont make him wrong or misunderstood because in Philippines we called our Black Native FILIPINO ancestor as NEGRO/NEGRA or AETA who has Darker skin color and it's not a Derogatory term for Black and As a Native Bisayan Speaker MYSELF we don't have any other words to described a certain Ethnicity/Tribe... I myself a NEGRA so proud because that's made more beautiful being a Filipina beauty and my great grandparents were Black Native Americans. FILIPINO Ancestors were NEGRO and NEGRA . We love and respected them... So,don't be too sensitive about the words IF YOU HEARED FROM AN ASIAN LIKE FILIPINOS because we don't use it to DisRespect. #Speaking of Oppression/discrimination/Agony/Tortured/Killings/Massacred. Our GreatFilipino Fathers Endure all that Pain from #colonizers Japanese, Spaniards FOR 333+years and sold us to #America and Suffered from our OwnLand for another agony of 50years... #Let's not forget "HISTORY" but that doesn't mean we continue hurting eachother..Lets Unite and have peace. This our great Opportunity as FILIPINOs to be heard to the worLd that we Suffered and much Pain from the Past but we don't hate instead we embraced and being greatful for the history that being shared and made a FILIPINOs a Fighter in real life.We love Our Great Colonizers Spain, Japanese and American because that's already history that we should be thankful as FILIPINOs for making us more braver in our own battles. #Respect be gets Respect

Ye it’s strange to me since in balkan there is no such word like the n word to generalize any skin colour, moreover some older (latin)people use the word negro because it means black, it has no connection to race or skin color. PS sorry for typing mistakes still working on my eng.
@YakultLitro
3 жыл бұрын
In philippines we inherited the word "Negro" from spanish since we've been colonized by them for 300years. But the word is more of a descriptive word like you said. It just means black, no other meaning. That's why Ez mil said when he got to america he's surprise some got offended by the word.
Been waiting to see ya review this. Keep up the content man.
Just some background, in Philippines Negro is not a racial derogatory word. We have black skinned Filipinos called Negritos and Negro is just a neutral adjective meaning dark-skinned much like we call lighter ones like EZ a mestizo, tisoy for short. I bet every single Filipino immigrant like EZ, was dumbfounded that the N word is a big no-no in America. It's initially confusing cause we hear the same offensive N word spoken loosely as a cool slang between black people or in songs. We arrive with no knowledge about the history of black oppression in America. So yeah, it made me snicker when EZ mentioned it cause I swear every Filipino immigrant went through that enlightening experience. We say Negro like you would say an apple is red - not an offensive word back home at all. 🤣 So if you hear a Filipino say the word, pls just educate them on what that word really means in America. I'm certain they will apologize and refrain from using it again. No need to jump or hate on the person, just pls educate.✌️

Hard core racism is only in the US. I have a friend we call nognog or nog. It means black-black or black. But we don't care. Nobody cares! We even call out his name on a mall, or public transportation but nobody cares. The concept of color or race only exists in Western part of the globe and few in Asia. I don't really know why color matters. Everybody all human. We talk, walk, live, laugh. Color / concept is so overrated that it's irritating. It just shows the lack of confidence if you stump someone because of color or race.

this shit made me understand the song!
I tell you I first saw Chuck D and Public Enemy FLAVA FLAV in the '80s when I was just a young buck and I had no idea what I was seeing then I got enlightened in the 90s by s*** like KRS-One, Pack and Biggie (always mentioned together for some reason), Nas with illmatic, a debut album by the way, which is probably the best of all time (arguably), then I saw Em in 2002's Anger Management tour in pumping shit from The Marshall Mathers LP and everything changed for me!!! Any kind of just stayed that way until about 2 months ago when I first heard this man do Cultura on the Wish bus with hbom....I was blown away, beyond enlightened, I've never seen this kind of singular talent ever! You can name anybody you want, I don't care Paul and Elvis Presley any other white people that have gone to glory that get all the accolades, this kid is better and I hate to say this but he literally brings tears to my eyes when I listen to this talent! And I realize that a 22 year old getting a compliment from a 56 year old is like getting a kiss from your grandmother -- it don't matter how good the kiss is it's still your grandmother! But nonetheless I've been trying to put it out there wherever I can that you need not sleep on this mother f***** cuz he's about to take over the entire game. The only concern I have is because he's so genius and so talented -- rapping in a second and third language and the s*** that he spits might be too advanced for most of the listeners out there who just like to get spoon-fed s*** or either just grab on to anything that gets the top 40 play. I hope that doesn't happen to this man, he does not need to get lost in that shuffle!

He got so many bars he built a prison.
Negro is just the spanish word for Black. I know flips speak spanish too, but I don't know if it actually means something else in their language. I know in America when they used to pronounce it Kneegro, they got it from the spanish word that was never intended to be anything but a color.

what he was talking about in his verse is that when us filipino use the N-word no one gets offended because for us it just means black and our ancestors were black too. meaning when us filipinos learned that it was offensive, we didnt know because we use it to call to our friends and it can mean as like a bro or we use them as nicknames. we dont use it to offend people. if you got offended and we didnt know, we're sorry because we dont want to offend people or hurt them intentionally.
