Milo, and sugar beets are a spring planted crop. They were planted together. This was planted late June due to the drought. We had to wait to plant. I added winter peas in hope of making pods for November. I added rutabaga in mid July Rye and buckwheat in September

Couldn’t be happier with your screening this year. Next year I’m going to try a a side by side comparison of your brassica blend vs frigid forage BnB. You are spot on with the deer hitting the beechnuts, acorns, and apples right now vs the plots

I am ready to give up on my plots, This is the third year in a row with no rain after planting, I replanted 2 weeks ago with oats and rye and still no rain and none forecast , It really sucks spending all that money for nothing,

Hang in there One rain can turn it all around If the rye and oat seed is buried it can sit there for weeks

@@dmouse522we are trying to get folks to bury the seed. No till sounds cool and can work in certain situations. But with areas and minimal rain, bury the big seed if you can.

Great video. Very cool food plots. So my cereal grains were getting tall like yours and we don't have any frost in forecast for at least 3 weeks here in Northern Illinois. I went over the rye, oats, wheat with the brush hog and trimmed them to about 4-5 inches tall. There are almost limitless acorns this year and the deer seem content without the food plots so far. I know this will change in the coming weeks and they'll be in the plots. Do you see any issue with trimming cereal grains if you think they got too high because of lack of browse?

When terminating the rye in August whether you are rolling or mowing it, do you have to worry about allelopathic effects before putting down the Sweet Feast blend?

If we are planting into the red clover /rye side , the rye has been terminated already with a June mowing. If we are Rolling down rye for more rye (as in the rocky no till plot) there is no issues

Can you add a video of the mix for how you follow up on the red clover, oats, rye side? Just the steps of how to prepare it again for fall planting? My plots are outstanding this year thanks John
