Look forward mostly, sometimes it can be good to look back. Nostalgia is like ice cream, it’s great from time to time but too much will kill you. It’s fun to remember but be careful of living in the past(you knew less back then😜). May your future be the best✌️

RIP John Drury. After seeing what my father went through the last few years of his life with Lewy Body Dementia, which acted similarly to ALS like Drury had, I can easily imagine how hard it had to have been for his family to go through that. Drury is forever missed.

Interesting you mention that, because an iconic figure in New York TV news, Bill Beutel who was long associated with sister station WABC Channel 7, also had Lewy Body Dementia in his last years. I'm sure the same sentiments you mentioned, would have applied to his loved ones. WABC also had a courtroom sketch artist, Marilyn Church, whose work now sits in the Library of Congress.

I like the commercials in this. I'm from Omaha Nebraska and have lived in Chicago since like 91 or something. So I remember seeing a lot of these people even in the early '90s. This kind of stuff just takes me back to the day.

Listen on the opening, and you'll hear the billing being reversed from what it usually was then-- "Jerry Taft for Steve Deshler on weather," and "Tim Weigel with sports." The reason I say that is because usually the weatherman would be billed "with weather," and the sports man "on sports."
