Ғылым және технология

Our brains hold the key to creating a world where nearly all children can become skilled readers. Acclaimed journalist Emily Hanford delves into this urgent topic with Dr. Stanislas Dehaene, one of the world’s foremost experts on learning and the brain. Dr. Dehaene will present some of the latest advances in understanding the neuroscience of literacy, including stunning neuroimagery that paints a detailed picture of how the brain becomes attuned to reading, and will connect his cutting-edge research with sound, practical methods to teach reading effectively, including to those with dyslexia.
This program was presented at Planet Word on Saturday, April 27, 2024, as part of Emily Hanford’s two-year tenure as Planet Word’s Journalist-in-Residence. Planet Word’s Journalist-in-Residence Program is made possible thanks to support from the Ibis Group.

I really enjoyed this video and truly believe we all need to be listening to Dr. Stanislas Dehaene and Mark Seidenberg when it comes to beginning reading instruction. I'm not sure if it's in this video or another one, where Dehaene talks about all words being able to read phonetically. I'm attaching a link to a video I've created of my daughter's journey becoming a proficient reader. The video is her journey reading phonetically-controlled books. She has not been given a single word to memorise. She reads all words phonetically by blending the sounds from left to right, even words that many people think cannot be read in this way. kzread.info/dash/bejne/YmWCstGcZ92nd7A.html
