@@chanel_xoxo3707 i thought the second one was better. With some mascara of course, it makes her have doll like eyes, which is a look. But I think first cat eyes accentuates perfectly on asian eyes more too since they usually have that pulled eye look naturally.

The before looks really pretty too!! Honestly can’t tell the difference just based off this short

I have hooded eyes and hated how eyeliner looked on me when I did the first technique. Now that I’ve been doing the second technique I love it so much.

I also have hooded eyes and I find that the 2nd technique works wonders when I want small eyeliner, I always end up doing a batwing tho because I like big unnecessary extra liner 🤣

From what I can see she had a natural cat eye before the face lift so technically she did have a natural cat eye but her cat eye now is from plastic surgery.

Man I’m not even asian and have almond shaped eyes…I do this exact thing because I can’t get the hang of eyeliners except when I use shadow and I even do this with the shadow because it’s the only way both eyes match 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m not Asian but this is how I always have done my eyeliner- I just assumed that’s how people achieved the look before I saw any videos of it- and it always had such a flattering result since the line follows your natural eye shape! Highly recommend!

No you guys should check out JessicaVu's channel, shes asian and her eye make up is just over the top. She did the 1st one but it looks amazing. I think lots of asian did the 2nd one but overdid it a little, hence it looks kinda heavy instead of big.

If I want a cat eye, I kind of do it the first way, just a more straight line and it looks more like lifted I look the exact same as her if i do the second technique like she does, but that look for me looks a little droopy. If I want to have larger eyes I'll go with other things like more korean makeup and stuff that focuses on that

Yes I agree the way she did it first actually looks better. More lifted and cat eye like while the second looks very droopy. It actually causes her droopy eye to look droopier than the first. Unfortunately this look isn’t doing anything for her.

@@Nick-ei8lt her eye does not look droopy. It’s more of a puppy eye liner. The first way doesn’t even make sense and looks awkward because you can see that the wing is coming out before the end of her eye.

also using white eyeliner in the waterline makes a huge difference! youre beautiful girl!

I’ve been doing the second look for ages, and you’re one of the first people I saw that uses the exact same technique!! Classic cat liner never suited me, (it makes my eyes look too round and it looks like shit on me), but the other method makes them look absolutely stunning. I just wanted to say that whether or not a technique works for you hasn’t much to do with your race like the poster implies (I’m white). It has more to do with how your facial features work together, and what you want to emphasize. Elongated eyes look best on me and this technique is amazing for that, if that’s the case for you as well, you should definitely try it! 💜

I learned this hack by my self a year ago it makes it easier to put eyeliner on.

When u did the Bella hadid cat eye that made your eyes bigger width wise, but when u did it your way that made eyes bigger length wise so it’s really just a matter of how u want your eye look. If you want a snatched eye than her method is better

Eyeliner can really change how your eyes look. It's crazy how something so small can have such a big impact.

i feel so proud of myself for figuring this out by myself before i saw any of these videos XD but yeah this is a great tip, especially for hooded eyes if you dont like the bat wing eyeliner!

100%! I have round, quite downturned eyes so a method like this does not look good on me at all, my eyeliner needs to be more like the lifted version she used to do. But, that’s why one size doesn’t fit all!

i'm european and have double eyelids and the normal eyeliner never looked good on me 😭😭 i've been doing this technique since last late november and omfg its a LIFE SAVORRRR i rlly hope this vid does help someone

Fun fact: I actually watched a bunch of tutorials on eyeliner before I tried it the first time, ignored all of them and developed my own technique, which is honestly pretty similar to this one. My eyeliner looks pretty different to most people’s eyeliner, which gives me a “signature look”. If I do it on other people, they honestly kinda look like me-

This isn't just for Asian people but for women in general with that eye shape. I am white and have that exact eye shape and have to do the second version because my eyes are slightly hooded and it would never work with the first version. Everyone needs to learn how to apply makeup that works for their own features rather then watching beauty gurus or social media influencers. What works for them, won't work for you. Putting too much concealer in a triangler shape under your eye will most likely eventually cause your makeup to crease. Because in reality, noone needs that much concealer under their eyes. People just follow the unrealistic expectation they see on social media platforms and feel bad when it doesn't work for them. Alot of nationalities share almond shape eyes, pouty lips, small or large noses, high cheek bones, etc. We are all unique and also similar in so many ways. We also need to stop with the labeling as well as comparing ourselves to someone who had plastic surgery to achieve a certain look that is unrealistic.

That’s literally what I do for hooded eyes!!! If I put the line right across my eye, it looks like my liner is seeping into my eye socket 😂 my lid DISAPPEARS!

It's not some crazy life hack, you need to know your eye shape and proper technique. This will look good on some eye shapes and not so good at others. Same thing goes for concealer hacks. Triangle under eyes or lifting hack just don't work on some face shapes. Moral of the story find out what your face shape eye shape nose shape and lip shape are before trying all these "hacks". That are bdw not new, people were just following make up hacks from influencers before and just never try to find out what is actually right for them. We all have unique features 💗

Tight line it to your Eyelash and not onto your waterline. Making dots inbetween your eyelashes will help hide your waterline. Then use your fingers to run it gently over the line to smudge over the unevenness or you can then use eyeliner, powder to even out the liner above your lashes. Hope this helps.

i’m sure she’s referring to the fact that the technique she was using did not suiting her natural Asian eyes. And I think her comment about “trying to be white” is valid. When you grow up without any representation in media, you change yourself to try to fit whatever you are seeing. And for her, that was doing eyeliner that just didn’t fit her natural eye shape.
