Hi, im born and raised in Manila. People who are originally from Tondo are kinda rich, they have big and nice houses. The only reason why Manila has so many informal settlers is because people from far provinces keep on settling to Manila, that'a why it's became so crowded. Manila in Spanish era isn't like that.

This is side of the Philippines most vloggers don't show and prefer to make out everywhere is like paradise.

I’ve been to Manila, and it is overwhelming in certain ways. What you don’t see is the oppressive heat and humidity. The smell is loud. We stayed in my wife’s friends guest room that had an AC unit . I would need to go take breaks and sit in the AC a few times a day when the heat got to me.

I once flew into manilla airport after a typhoon on my way to dau..well every road flooded hotel driver took 8 hours to get thru.. flooding..Children playing in hugh piles of garbage in middle of street. no shoes shirts.. street after street..It was a real humbling experience. One that never leaves you..

so many more details at the slowest playback speed. For example the expressions in the faces of the passers-by or the children playing and fighting, or the pets, cats, dogs, birds in cages. amazing

Namimiss ko na Pinas brother. Specifically Metro Manila. Even the less attractive parts. These are the types of the streets I used to drive through everyday. It is very enlightening and humbling to see way more into the city. These videos keep me rooted to my home and also serve as a practice in gratitude. I hope to one day come back and be in a position to help those in need and improve their living conditions. Even if it is just a little bit. Cheers!

Where is the garbage? this area is cleaner than most poor areas in metro Manila. This is moreno’s backyard and he has cleaned it up compare to when he took office.those waterlilies in water r everywhere other than to do.

Lovely tour. It's going to take a lot to convince people not to throw trash just any where.

I lived in the Philippines in the 70’s. I’m amazed at how much concrete there is for roads. When I was there then, it was mostly dirt roads.

I think this video has reveled what a normal hell on earth looks like. Wish I could say this is a very nice video but in reality its images stirs emotion and empathy in a much deeper way than the video content itself. Thanks for showing.

It is just overwhelming! However, it shows that the people still live in peace with some humanity; their inhumane living condition did not alter their humanity. It is comforting to see that. If it was the slum of some other countries, you would have not been able to even walk in the area! I believe that the government should have a plan to help those people to find better living conditions, to give them a little bit of hope. They should clean that river that is so poluted that it turned completely black! As an American, it opens my eyes to how much I have and do not even realize it or appreciate it enough; now I am questioning my level of ambition dismissing the reality of a world where there is so much suffering. I am sad! Thanks for the video!

Hope and pray that the Local Government can assist to improve the living conditions…. Pretty sure the communities will help

I have several pictures of those twin rotunda towers. especially from the Hong Bon Bridge- which according to google earth is blocked from my wonderful view. maraming squatters. Nothing to say for me Mr. Krypto since words are not enough to make life easier for them. To me, sobrang linis po ng paligid nila except for the floating water hyacinths and trash...it could have been worse. How can we make it possible for the president of the Philippines to watch all your vlogs so he does not talk like he lives in wondeland or from another planet? Wishful thinking lang po. It makes me sad that the Philippines has not gotten any kind of social safety net available for the people . A public works program would do wonders for those who are living at the lowest levels.

Keep in mind that I’m walking on uneven ground most of the time, this can cause a lot of less stabilized footage even with a gimbal
