An antique nearly half a century old - Type 65 kettle. The surface is bumpy, the paint is damaged, and the strap is severely worn
Soybeans are expanded with water to support the shell, the surface is sandblasted, putty is scraped, polished and painted
Vegetable tanned leather belt material is thinned to 2mm, the strap is remade, and pure copper metal parts are replaced.
After repair, it is as bright as new.

@@mullerpotgietersemantics. Rust is iron oxide, but aluminum is not impervious to oxidation. Needs to be protected the same way iron or steel needs to.

И так и так получаешь бесформенный и потянутый бак в лучшем случае, а с водой ещё и рвануть может дырку. Потому здоровые на голову реставраторы никогда этими способами не пользуются, а используют специальный инструмент наподобие кочерги с шариком на конце. Если на пальцах, то кочерга зажимается в тисках а изгиб с шариком вводится в горловину фляги и там прижимается к вмятине. Затем по основанию кочерги наносится удар молотком и она передаёт ударную вибрацию на шарик, который начинает выстукивать промятый металл в противоположную сторону. Это работа для людей с головой и руками, потому и конечный результат такой, что придраться не к чему. А не вот эта вот бесформенная чепуха со шпаклёвкой.

Lol All it needed was some buffing …. You made the toxic aluminium even more toxic with kitty primer and lead paint
