Considering how knotted her fur was and how painful it looked to remove it I gotta hand it to her: she's the most patient cat I've seen so far!

Why not shampoo and condition??? My cat has two coats the bottom being a soft silky and the outter being regular fur so i know the work involved . I also know cats dont fo well shaved! And your a vet? 😢

This beautiful kitty is being so good through this grooming. She will feel sooo much better when it's over.

I imagine she's been itchy, so I bet she'd love a skritchy rubdown on the newly-exposed skin every time she gets a patch cleared. That would not only make her comfortable immediately, but it would show her the benefits of the grooming. What a lovely cat. What a good groomer.

It is amazing that the cat didn't struggle more, and even more amazing that the groomer didn't get scratched! Lots of experience, obviously!

I did the same...let my kitty watch lol. She was apprehensive with the meows but I wanted her to get used to the sound of the buzzer. I gave her treats and she actually came up to the computer to watch though every time the cat meowed she ran sheesh lol. I hope she will do well. She let's me groom her in every place and loves it. This will be a new experience for her but I did not want it to be traumatizing. I talk to her all of the time and she calms down with her name. I hope she will be calm enough for the procedure. I know afterwards she will feel relieved though. That is all I want.

I once rescued a male black cat that looked like that. All I had was a scissors and comb. I was a source of FOOD so we managed three days to cut him. I nursed back to health, got him shots, and a neighbor adopted him. A few blocks away was a huge apartment complex and from talking to some that lived there, someone moved out and left him, I picked him up three weeks later. Your chunky lady reminded me so much of him. You were so good and gentle with her. Hopefully she got a better furrever home and so did her kittens.

Thank you for being so kind and gentle with this sweet girl! Many groomers talk about cats as if they are the "enemy" but you were very loving and provided her with much needed relief :)

This kitty is doing well. I think she realized she was being helped. This groomer is doing a great job. Kitty will feel better when she is finished.

Wow! You have to be the bravest person on the planet! You are firm, but kind to the kitty and you did a seriously fantastic job on the kitty, who was in bad shape. Nicely done!

Omg the worst is around the neck and chest and tummy when I do my daughters cat it’s just sooo much lol keeping the blade cooks key they are so tender skinned thanks nice tutorial. I hat to come back and give the name my cat gets he swears and swings his tail and bites so he turns into a catagator but I still love him and I can’t say it enough tender skin watch out for razor burn 🤓

I watch A LOT of dog and cat grooming videos and this by far the best one I have ever seen. You were absolutely amazing and watching you constantly check the temperature of your blade was incredible!!! Loved every second of this video!

The cat struck me as freaking out a little at first, but as the session went on she seemed like, "Hey, this isn't so bad, and I feel better!" By the end she was putty in your hands. Sweet.

That cat has the prettiest amber eyes I have ever seen. She looks so much better after her spa day with you .

What an amazing groom considering how shockingly matted she was. Looked like a different cat and you were so gentle. Thank you so much for helping this poor cat and I hope she got a new and wonderful forever home after this

You were able to keep the cat calm and unafraid, a very special skill. Wish I had known you with my wonderful Siamese who had been traumatized by groomer before I adopted him. Had to be sedated to be groomed, would have loved to have had you work with him.

So patient with this cat even made her look pretty in the end ,a sweet cat too , took a lot considering her matted hair …beautifull face ,cute, her family would have been very happy with your work….good job..

Amazing!!! I have Maine coon cats and as you know from time to time they need a groom. While mine have never been anywhere near this bad…you are doing a beautiful 😻 and sensitive job on what appears to be a tabby. My male weighs 30 lbs and he never needs a shave-down. Cudos and blessings to you and your gentle touch.

That is a really good cat I don’t think mine would ever let anyone do that to him. Mine has short hair that I brush every morning and every night if not he gets hair balls that he will throw up. God Bless you for having so much patience

This Lady did a Fantastic job. It is a Shame the Sweet Cat was neglected so long. It was a Project getting her Fur Trimmed. But Diffenetly Worth it. She will feel Better Now. And in a Couple of weeks Time look Beautiful again. ♥️🖤💙🐈

You are an angel for grooming this cat. That cat was so matted it was unreal. I have a little rescue and her for Matt's into big knots but I am able to most of the time comb them out and the ones that I can't get combed out she lets me sniff out with a pair of scissors and I'm always very very careful cuz I'm always afraid of snipping her skin it's very hard because she has the type of fur that just knots up so quick but you are an angel for grooming this precious baby

I have to shave my Maine cone boy occasionally, but not all over like that. He sometimes gets knots, but before they get too massive, we have to ambush him, hold him down and shave them off. My husband has to get fit enough to hold him down while I do the deed. We keep plenty of plasters, bandages and antiseptic in the med cupboard! Charlie the cat doesn’t need them, we do!

So terrible that such a beautiful cat was left to become that badly matted. Precious baby. And you were so gentle with her!

As much as I would love to have a Maine Coon, or any long haired cat, I know I don't have the time or money to care for their spectacular coat... so I will admire from afar.

Thank you for helping this poor girl and stressing the importance of grooming. You could tell she was uncomfortable and it's a good thing those mats weren't pulled to the point of the clipper cutting the skin. That stuff can get nasty and painful. Well done on what you did!

Cats do not "know" they are being helped. Haven't you ever seen a video of a cat at the vet. They are being helped, but they sure don't know it. This cat tolerates it because she is a very laid back, even tempered cat. It's just her nature.

Cats don't know when someone is helping them. Have you seen any videos of cats at the vet's? A lot of them freak out. They don't know the vet is taking care of them.

Kitty deserves lots of treats she was great its been a long process probably wants to curl up in a ball somewhere an sleep she's alot calmer now

I had a cat that was a "semi long hair". He was so handsome but I was always brushing him. Thank you for helping this poor tolerant kitty! 💕

She's a super sweet cooperative cat

Had a hard time finding a groomer to shave my long hair cat in the summers who didn't want to anesthetise him. He was a sweet boy and lived the grooming.

Vets will tell you never shave a dog or cat. It. Doesn't cool them instead makes temperature of animal rise risking heat stroke.

When I was a kid, my mother had a cat like this called Mouse who would get very matted but was able to keep the fur along her spine groomed. So every summer, Mouse got a shave with my Dad's hair clippers, except for along her spine, to get a "Mohawk" hair style. In the California heat, I'm sure she appreciated it, but it did look hilarious...

You did a good job,and the cat was very good...poor thing.

Such a good girl, she didn’t like the process but she knew you were helping her feel better and didn’t take her aggression out on you. She just got her vocal “cussing” out loud but stayed very patient with the whole thing. And you, Ms Groomer were fabulous with her!! So patient and reassuring and kept talking to her the whole way through. The owner should be ashamed to let such a beautiful girl get in such a bad condition. Ignorance is no excuse, it does not take a genius to go to a library and look at a book on the care of cats! It is neglect and laziness, anyone can say they love their animal but caring for the animal properly is a huge part of loving a pet. Thank God for people like you that help these neglected pets and try your hardest to educate idiotic owners. Many of them should never be owners in the first place! 😏

I love your post ! You are so right about going to the library and checking out a book about the care of cats ! I had two American Shorthair Cats and I brushed them all over at least 2-3 times a week ! If I didn't do that , they would get all yucky ! When I first got them , the all white one had something black on his back and his tail. I thought and thought about it and I finally figured it out and I used some plain Argo corn starch on those places and I massaged it into those places and then I used a slicker brush on them and tah-dah it came out of those places !!!! I was so surprised that the sweet little kitty didn't even scratch or bite her ! She was so well behaved ! I had never seen a cat being groomed before. It was VERY interesting to see. People who have long haired cats OR dogs should automatically know that they have to GROOM them at least once a week !!!! I hope that you have a GREAT night and weekend !!!!

Poor beautiful kitty. I feel really bad for her, and her being allowed to become so matted. I hope whomever is this neglectful of her needs learns their lesson from witnessing how much discomfort this poor kitty was in. I also really hope that whomever ‘owns’ this cat seriously reconsiders their position in this cat’s life and finds her a better person, or people to give her to whom will take much better care of her. Amazing job! So skillful. Can't believe how calm the cat was as well (during the shearing, clearly didn't take to being bathed). Stunned. Just watched another grooming video and it took two others to hold the cat still. Now, why am I doing this on a Saturday night...

Someone else should have helped, staying by her face, talking sweetly, and reassuring her. She is obviously miserable, scared, and needs extra kindness - not just a fast shave. Beautiful cat. She deserved more loving care. That bath and drying were way too rough. Poor thing. I hope she did well.

I get my longhair cat shaved and groomed every single spring. She hates going, but is very appreciative when it's done.

My mom had a long haired calico cat that had to be shaved. But she was horrible to try to groom. This one is calm. You are very patient with her.

After all that commotion & wailing (Not that any person would want to go through all this without at least 1 or 5 temper tantrums), I can't believe that she just "SAT THERE"!! .. Quiet as a church door mouse, just sat through the end procedures like a proper little trooper. I'd of been so proud of her & I'm more than stunned about how you got through the whole ordeal. I appreciate that you talk to her and are so sweet to her.

Ive had various longhair and double coat cats. Training them to be brushed and like it is worth the time. They will come, as soon as you pick the brush up, once they understand how nice it feels.
