Wow. The amount of comments here bad mouthing the video creator and/or exclaiming that this sudoku isn't 'extreme' is just ridiculous. Let me give you all a hint: Sudoku is a logic puzzle based on the process of elimination. Generally, the information we're given at the very beginning helps us understand everything else going forward. If you've still not figured it out yet: The guy tells us *at the very beginning* that this is a *medium* puzzle. The "extreme" relates only to the 'X'.

I'd call this an EXTREMEly easy puzzle.

That is exactly how _not_ to solve such a simple puzzle. You're very systematic, but you don't examine consequences/ramifications. Whenever you fill in a number, you should quickly investigate whether that same number can be filled in elsewhere. Look up and down and side to side. Also, repeatedly counting from 1 to 9 is counterproductive. Just fill in the numbers as they become available. For example, you could begin this particular puzzle by filling in the 8 in box 1, the 5 in box 3, the 3 in box 2, the 1 in box 2, the 1 in box 1, the 5 in box 8, the 8 in box 7, the 7 in box 8, and so on. Numerical order is almost never the most efficient order.

Diagonal puzzles have way less numbers as of they have the two diagonal patterns.

So many questioning the "Extreme" name even though he explains it within the first 2 minutes. It's just called that for the X that cuts through the puzzle

I was going to dislike this video because it wasn't a difficult puzzle, but to be fair, he did say that this was from the *medium* section of the _Dell Extreme Sudoku Puzzle book._ We just need to open our ears once in a while. 😊 . . . . . And yes, the "open our ears" part was meant as a joke. 😉

This is a medium level puzzle..I request you one thing..please go to playstore app and download "Sudoku app by Easybrain" Go to extreme mode or level and solve it...I take min 1.5hrs to solve each extreme sudoku puzzle and sometimes 3hrs..If you found any trick to solve them easily please let me know

He just sticks to his pattern that he demonstrates in his other videos, as well. Why, I can't say, maybe for continuity's sake. I'd gladly use his techniques AFTER quickly filling in the glaringly obvious numbers.

Probably a marketing strategy. Would seasoned Sudoku puzzlers buy a book called "Sudoku extra-easy"? Those difficulty terms seem to be chosen so that buyers can say/think "Dude, did you see what I'm buying? EXTREME!!!" There's a HARDCORE or NIGHTMARE Sudoku variant out there, too, I'm certain :)

Copied it on paper and solved it in 6 minutes. EDIT: In pen with no corrections and no little number notes.

It's medium. He actually says this a couple times during the video. The "extreme" is just in relation to the 'X'.

lol, Extreme with 31 clues??? I think it qualifies as Medium at worst. ...the smallest number of clues possible is 17. Hard level often has 24-26.

One of the two middle in the first box has to be a 9. That means there can't be another 9 in the middle row. In the 3rd box, there is a 9 on the bottom, so it can't go there either. So, in the middle, the only slot left was where he put it.

how idiotic. This is one of the easiest Sudoku.

Not an efficient technique, first step is column6row3 is 1, your should look for numbers that occur in two boxes. So c1r1 is 8 since we find 8s in the both boxes to the right. Going through every number in turn just sets up pairs that are quickly eliminated.

Not extreme, in fact it was rather simple click fest. 2 solutions possible.

wife and I argued for ages that SHE got it wrong... But definately 2 solutions... the male solution (me ),, had a closed loop of 8 numbers at the end and had to choose a path, and matched the above solution. She still made me tea.

Before watching this video, my worst fear was death. This is my second video and i already have tried to commit 17 times. Like the people that are watching this “tutorials” know how to solve sudoku so nobody cares how you got it. Also if i havent already driven this home, it is inconceivable how you are so blind. Like you have one box left in a row and you decided to try to figure out another row that has 4 different possiblilities and then 8 minutes later it hits you that you only have one box left. I am not only concerned for your well being, but that of others. You were 100% a mistake but its not even your parents’ fault, it their parents’ fault for giving birth to them because then they were able to bring you into this world.
