This just makes me think about life. Like, how many people have lived and had an impact on the result of this? Like, just imagine... The number of producers, voice actors, animators and musicians that went into the anime rips alone. Theres a tiny little guitar lick at 4:30 from Death Grips' "I Want it, I Need it." Which is a three-man band, but going back further that lick wasn't originally from that song, it was sampled from Pink Floyd's "Interstellar Overdrive". Going even further, this mashup heavily samples "Welcome to the Black Parade", and Gerard only started writing music after witnessing the 9/11 terror attacks, so even that had a heavy impact on how this turned out. The butterfly effect is fucking wild.

Something about the way the final notes match with each other is painfully beautiful

This isn't just a meme, if you listen to the songs that play during it and the tone of the mix as it plays through, this is a typical portrayal of the hero's journey, including a major character death at 9:00 in the song, kicking off the saddest sounding part of the song before the major villain is defeated and the heroes look back on their adventure and the friends they made along the way, which is why the songs from the beginning, where the MC was alone and bored with his life play once again, but more triumphantly than before. and the chaotic buildup to the 9:00 event signifies a surface-level, unmeaningful relationship between MC and supporting. Afterward, the triumphant return shows their newly forged bond between them, displaying more maturity and coherence which suggests a large time gap in the middle for them to 'get their heads on straight.' It all started as a friendship created around fun and entertainment, signified by the Love Live anime opening (the musicians were a group of 9 students that wanted to be famous). the spongebob song 'gary come home' shows a disconnect in the group, in this case 'the band broke up.' after this, they all went on with their lives, maybe forgetting the group ever existed (the many 'random' songs in between). at some point, they got back together, started having fun together, and just like the story of icarus, they flew too close to the sun and got burned. one of them was injured or died in the process. they try to deny it, going through the 5 stages of grief, ending up in depression at the 9:00 mark. collective reflection and introspection guides them to acceptance, where they acknowledge the fallen member and continue, fires flaming anew, weighed down by the memories they made. ultimately, they soar to higher stages than ever before and end in success. Actually, one interesting thing is that there are extra drum tracks used from We Are Number One and Ringside. WANO's appears during the 'chorus' segments for Take On Me and the finale from 21 Guns to them saying 'Hey.' Ringside's drum intro starts during the first verse of Uptown Funk. Also something to note is that Welcome To the Black Parade's guitar fade is used at the end, but to my knowledge I can't pinpoint the last drum hit at the very end.

This song feels like I just went through an entire lifetime

This is the pinnacle of sounclown. Nine minutes of a mashup that covers pretty much the entire gamut of soundclown sources, all perfectly fit together and seamlessly transitioned, then an amazing buildup and finale which manages to carry on for two minutes without feeling like it's dragging on at all.

My favorite segment of the song is like- 9:00 to the end of the song. But my absolute favorite part of all of this is at 11:31. Just- throughout the song it's been 3-4 songs mashed together and fading into each other, but at this moment, it's like 10-15 different songs, not only fading amongst each other amazingly, but even their lyrics rhyming with each other. It's a whole new creation out of the greatest memes and music. And honestly it makes me tear up as I just look at this huge bundle of memes, which act as call backs to the entire history of the community that is on the internet. I love it.

I greatly regret watching this while sleep deprived

it's insane to think about just how much time and effort went into this. how many people had to work on every music piece, every visual sequence, how many unsung actors and extras there were, how many animators and effects artists put their time and effort into every little piece. how many people had to work on getting these clips and compiling them and editing together the visuals and mixing the audio, it's just amazing how many things had to go right for this beautiful creation to be made. this isn't just a song. this is so much more. this is art. this is beauty. this is an accumulation of lifetimes of effort as a species coming together and making a *masterpiece.* as far as i'm concerned, this is the closest to magical we could've ever gotten.

This was a very emotional bop. It sounds great and has so many emotions behind it. All the music and time put into it, all the the hard work the artists put into the music and this is what those pieces were put into. A great mashup of great memes and emotional memories of having mini concerts in the high-school bathroom where these were the types of songs we played. It brings back great memories and not so great memories but it's still such a great mashup. Thank you so much for posting this.

9:00 - 9:32 makes me a little sad, the video shot is meaningful. its like it shows how the person in each shot has shows what they’re facing in whatever their current situtation is. It’s like whether performing in front of people or flying through the vast universe, they have to conquer everything in front of them. They are in that moment ready to take on anything in front of them all the while watching the world go by knowing they wont get that time back and that they won’t be alive for long as everything fades into history. Makes me feel small, just a little. Great clips paired with the music! this is just damn good editing/mixing. :(

This isn't just a Mashup, not just a song, this is a total experience everyone should take the time to listen too.
