Freaking awesome. Diesel with SAS is the ultimate off road. Diesel is better if you do water crossing and SAS is just strong. Did you guys see that one Land Rover had winch in front and in the back. That's awesome. Wish here in the USA we had a compact SUV with diesel and SAS.

Never understood why diesel was never liked in the us in general. In Germany we have around 50/50 diesel petrol. And i have to say if youre not in a sporty car diesel is better in my opponion espacialy offroad because of the torque

Yeah the land rovers are great but it's the idiots behind the wheels of them I have the discovery v8i 3.9ltr se and love doing all this drive over to Sweden Norway and in thick snow and ice drive to Italy do off road driving love it I have the all right tyres and the snow chains I've done the advance driving course to I'm missing it now with this c~19 thing that is going on though now

Okay. I’m old school. I know diesel is where it’s at now, but honestly, a decent gas V8 gets the wheel speed up enough to clean out he tires.

Are those defender wheel arches

What do you guys normally use to lift your Disco's? Is it a particular kit or?

I wish I knew where to buy the front winch bumper with the headlight brush guards thats on the 2nd mint green disco 2 and the 3rd black discovery. If anybody knows who makes them would be greatly appreciated.

I had a 03 Disco 4.6 but if I had a Diesel It would be parked in my garage next to my 59 Series II 88, Soft Top with a Turbo Cummings 6At.

thinking about buying one, 2004, 135,000 miles, gas v8, seems to be in nice shape. any reason not to? i have read they require lots of work to keep them going, what do you think? seller is asking $3,500 but i know i could get it for less.

wow, thats about $14,000 USD right? thats crazy i could see it being worth more than $3,500 USD if it had the diesel motor in it.

@adventures and quadcopters I'm from England and had a 1998 Discovery 1 while i was in Australia. it was the 3.9 V8 petrol, honestly i have to say it was pretty reliable. it died eventually from a blown head gasket which cause it to overheat and crack the head, wasn't worth spending the money on to repair as i only had a couple of months left in the country. they are quite renowned for head gaskets but it had something like 260,000 km's on the clock. i bought it from a guy in Noosa who had it sitting out the back of his workshop, it was and covered in green stuff, filthy and had pine needles all in the scuttle panel. i never did an oil or filter change, i had to top up the engine oil and transmission fluid now and then and replaced a squeaky serpentine belt. the only other MECHANICAL issues i had was a split power steering hose and a starter motor pack up, both of which are easy jobs. that car had nothing but abuse while i owned it, i took it out to the outback where it spent 3 months driving on dirt/dust roads that are like cattle grids for mile after mile shaking any car to bits, i drove it up beaches in soft sand sometimes for close to an hour at a time, crossed rivers, took it offroading in state forests where i bogged it and filled it with water and mud, pushed and pulled trees off trails.... it honestly did everything i wanted it to.
