One of the great things about the Morris is that sides like this can, and do, have fun at their own expense, there's loads of examples and its all part of The Morris. Every one of these dancers and people who do make things up for fun retain full respect for the Cecil Sharps and Lionel Bacons and wouldn't dream of mocking the written down dances. The Morris is in safe hands.

It is an English tradition. It really depends on what type of Morris Dancing. There are different traditions within Morris such as Cotswold, Rapper, Border, Sword, Clog etc. I dance for a Cotswold side in the South East of England and we often dance out with Morris sides from a different tradition.

You'd be surprised to see that there is a very similar dance in Romania. It is called "calusari" and it is danced by a group of men, one of them is the leader, they have sticks and bells.
