» THE MOUNTAIN GOAT
For this fun food adventure, we were invited to enjoy a home cooked meal by a local Ninh Binh family. Ninh Binh mountain goat is a local specialty that you can find offered in many different restaurants. Each restaurant offer their own secret recipe, so no dish is quite the same. The goat meat in Ninh Binh is known for being firm and aromatic, without much fat. It is said that due to Ninh Binh’s rocky mountains, the goats are more active and eat more herbs than in many other areas, which is why the meat is less fatty.
🐐The goat is stuffed with spices including Vietnamese curry leaves, ginger, galangal and lemongrass. Goat intestine, blood and throat are added over grilled shallots. Fig fruit, star fruit, young banana and carrot are an optional part of this dish.

Amazing show. I am a 12 year veteran so I have seen ppl eat dog and cat and what Americans consider strange/disturbingly disgusting food so it is amazing to watch a show that can show Americans that its not all cats and dogs that there is amazing food spread throughout the world.

Hehe I love the blood soup. It was my favorite meal when I was young in Vietnam. My uncle made it for me when I went back to visit. It's good!! You suppose to put a lot more in.

I honestly don't get it. It's basically the same as deer (venison) in the US, they're so common there.
You know Sonny and team, these videos are not only entertaining and remind me of my time in Vietnam, around when Covid hit, but what you're doing -providing enjoyment, laughter, pleasure, sometimes cringe effect😬 brings seriously such a positive vibe from watching this channel, even the scarish vids. Whenever I start worrying about sh*t, you know like wars, chronic pain etc. YOU guys are the temporary fix in my world. Thanks so much 🥰

Being born in the US, I used to think tiet canh was super gross & assumed it was a "drinking food" because you HAD to be hammered to be able to stomach it... but I've recently started to enjoy it because I learned that you're supposed to add fish sauce, lemon/lime juice, peanuts, and crackers. helps sooo much with the iron-y taste & offputting texture you mentioned. The alcohol definitely still helps though 😬

Ive actually had fried goat in onions with rice beans & plantain. From a Haitian restraunt in NYC when I used to live there. You would never believe me how GOOD it is untill you try it you're self! It's one of my FAV dishes!! So tender and flavorful.

In fact, BVB "trikot" (fake, of course lol)always is a hot selling item here. Because of its vibrant color, many amateur football clubs in Vietnam use it as their jersey.

Starfruit! One of my favorites. When I was a child I remember going to the market and if I behaved my mother would buy me a few starfruits because it was an umcommon fruit and was not available always.
That's a very nice place. The drone views are breath taking.😍
It was so amazing to see mountain goats standing on narrow roads at a cliff side
We grew up on goat a good meat. That rabbit, pigeon, snake, yabbies. Done in such a different way, I like watching these, thank you so very much x

Peta says Vietnamese shouldn’t eat dog meat. And do you know how to shut their mouth up? Let them eat the dog, but tell them that is just a deer. Kind of like something that has been around for so long, you're just used to it. I'm not complaining either way, I like the dish. Cheer.

It's a bit pity that you missed all other dishes made from goat meat, which made it famous in Ninh Binh, such as tái chanh (semi cooked with lime juice), tái lăn, grilled, rựa mận (a kind of soup), and hot pot cooked with herbs (lẩu thuốc bắc). For everyone who is going to try goat meat in Ninh Binh, don't miss those amazing dishes.
