Mary Ann Stark-Busse If you google the families, generally you can find an update. Unfortunately, a lot of them have lost their homes to foreclosure, because they couldn't afford the new mortgage and inflated bills. Some of the updates are too sad.

I thought the same and imagined that terrible outcome mentioned, but it's great when the team realizes the burden. While the intent is SUCH a blessing, it's hard to imagine the home being a blessing if your finances are already in shambles with no glimmer of hope 😢 I know the intent was great though. I LOVED this show and never considered that before

@@Kari2025Your basic point is correct, but it isn't the mortgage on the new house that causes the problem. Legally, the renovations are the rent ABC pays for a week's use of the property, so there is no new mortgage. The income isn't even taxable. Existing mortgages combined with increased utilities and property taxes cause the problem.

This was THE BEST SHOW EVER! So much help for so many families in need!

I'm speechless!! I watched this when it originally aired on television but watching it again still warm's my heart & bring's me to tear's! Loved this show!!!!

Mr. Ty Pendleton. You makes me cry crazy every time why can't they be more caring people liked you mr. Pendleton thank's God bless you and everyone else who makes people happy.

I would love to see an update on all the families to see where they are now, and how they are doing, and to see if they still have their homes.

Some had to sell their home cuz the taxes and the bills went sky high and end up selling their home Some end up splitting up cuz of it And some end up selling their cars ect to afford to own the house before they could sell it

I looked up this house online and apparently the Riggins family still owns it! They did have to pay $5,000 in taxes for it in 2015 though. So many families end up having to sell their homes.

9 of 212 families moved out of their homes with only 2 foreclosures, one of which was due to the families decision to take out a triple mortgage on their home to try and start a new business. From the start this show has been smeared and defamed by miserable angry people who just hate good things in the world.

That was beautiful helping this family xxx I understand this lady wanting to provide for her family. I have tried so hard to provide for my kids on my own but I am now becoming a burden and have never been able to give my kids a home to call our own. Every episode that paid their mortgages are the best episodes. This house isn't my cup of tea (too big for no reason, cleaning it will be a nightmare for me), but without mortgage it truly is the biggest blessing for most people. ❤ I really love this show. My country had a dupe show (maybe a franchise, IDK), but the houses they built (in 3 days!) were laughable cardboard houses compared to the beautiful, luxurious houses built on this show... (but of course the extremely poor people in my third world country felt so lucky just to have a tiny working toilet and a bed on the floor...looking at their happiness moved me deeply... 😢)

Greetings Extreme makeover home edition. You wonderful people are a blessing to many people that you help and change lives for the better. I have not watched EMHE for almost a year and have only in the last two weeks am starting to watch it again. Anyway I just wanted to express that the Riggins family are the only family so far to truely look to God first to thank Him & to give the glory to our Heavenly Father through our Lord Jesus, nw tht made it more special for to watch, praise the Lord :-)

Living in poverty doesn't mean you should have roaches and other pest and dirty surroundings. I grew up with a single mom and 5 siblings and she taught us that poverty was not an excuse for nastiness. I hope that as the kids in this video grew older, they helped their mom and dad to maintain cleanliness

William was my best friend in elementary school.. and when we all went back to school they announced his home extreme makeover on the intercom.. the crazy thing no one knew how he was living

But what touches me the most is the look on Ty's and the Makeover Team's faces as they watch the families reaction. That kind of thing is not scripted and not planned. The Makeover Team really do get a kick out of putting a smile on people's faces. We watch your shows in the Fiji Islands' FBC TV every week. God Bless you all!

Now this show is something I love because it helps people in need but hate it at the same time because most of the families lose their homes afterwards!The city or state of these people they help shouldn't be allowed to take their homes ,why does people still try to help out when our government or city shuts them down why can't they help instead !!!

Don't talk about things you don't know about. As of 2020, only 9 of the 212 families on this show have left their homes and only 2 were due to foreclosure, one of which was because the family took out a triple mortgage to try and start a new business. False statement by people like you and those made by the exploitive tabloid business is a huge reason why show like this are ended and not brought back. Be better and research before you make a statement
