I love how that gray wall really makes your art wall pop. When I look outside on a cloudy day, nothing makes the gold hills look more brilliant than having the dark, moody sky behind them, and so this makes so much sense to make the colors of your frames and art really stand out, too.

The entryway looks amazing!! Absolute perfection! As for trying to match the old trim to the new trim, if you feel you have the color down (or close enough) then I would try different top coats. Many of these old stains were shellacked or lacquered and the lacquer was yellow tinted. You might try adding a tint to a lacquer like a couple drops of black or yellow tint. Just enough to "layer" the color so it adds richness and shine at the same time. Ultimately the "aged" look you're going for is just the aging of the lacquer. Same with paintings... If you watch Baumgartner Restorations he talks about how paintings don't have a "patina". They just have top coats that yellowed over time. The same thing happens to old stain. Hope you are able to achieve the look you want!

Frosted glass ideas 1. you could use craft paper and organically make a circle, or oval shape around the design so it's not so sharp. 2. frost the entire piece of glass, cover it in paper, and only spray the design on it in another color. 3. Leave it and put up a curtain with both a top and bottom rod pocket. Then pull it together so it makes an X shape. Brass curtain rods. 4. you could frost it the opposite way that you did, where the only clear parts would be the stencil and the rest would be frosted. But that would require a new piece of glass.

The entryway is so beautiful! Dark wax, the kind people use for chalk paint projects to add that aged antique look, will deepen the raw stain just slightly and leave it with a lovely hand rubbed finish that could be missing from a newly stained piece.

Hey! Recently I was trying to find a match for my 1950s stained interior doors which are a similar color to your trim! Someone suggested minwax gunstock stain or an ambered shellac. Could be worth exploring for you as well!! I’m sure this isn’t a new problem for the home restoration industry/community. Perhaps, if there’s a local historical society or anyone local who has restored a home they also may have other resources! Don’t be afraid to contact experts, they love helping people! This is beautifully done, you’ve got me wanting to redecorate my whole house!

Hi! First of all, I love it! I didn’t know how to feel when you picked a grey with that wood tone right there but it works so well! The art *chefs kiss*. The table from your mum *chefs kiss* With the door to the closet I like the white milky knob. I think it ties everything together so nicely. I don’t love the etched glass though I’m sorryyyyy. Everything in your house is finished to absolute perfection and the glass looks diy and uneven. I so look forward to your videos through the week 😘

Gorgeous as always! Love it all. The glass diy came out well, but it sounds like what you really need is a reverse stencil like you would print on a cricket then peel off after you spray around the design

The painting and table from your mom are gorgeous! They, along with the other artwork, look great against the dark and moody paint color. I like the pop of the white door knob. Stain is so tricky isn't it?! It is coming along so beautifully so far!

I love the fact that the lamp is on the right of the painting as the right of the painting is lighter than the rest, it makes it seem like the light inside the painting is coming from the table lamp itself, which is such a cool detail.

MaCenna!!! What you’ve done with the hallway entrance is so beautiful, I LOVE the oil painting your Mom custom painted for you. The whole thing is just gorgeous. I would do the white doorknob. That one in my opinion looks best!

Oh my gosh! I would not a change a single thing! The moody color of the wall against the wood doorway is perfection And love to see someone who is not afraid put a nail in a wall. I thought the gallery wall looked unbalanced til you added the gorgeous lamp and books and wood vessel. This almost feels like you are looking at a still life. You surpassed anything I could have imagined in this space.

Definitely the Oatmeal/White doorknob looks the best for the closet door, in my opinion! Provides the ideal contrast while still tying in with your color scheme and the milky lamp. You have outdone yourself McKenna! Your entryway is absolutely stunning! You are so talented and truly amazing! 👏🏻
