When artists start treating ASMR as a job and not a hobby and start doing what viewers demand, their videos become boring and you can see they don’t enjoy the crushes. Some of the artist that take breaks. Towards the you can tell they just were not enjoying it because they were molding so much into what viewers wanted and not what they enjoy. Their old videos vs newer videos are so different. ASMR is only good as long as the artist is enjoying it.

not naming the chalk brand is a good move honestly. chalk companies get SO much free promotion from ASMRtists but they never support them in return, plus it just gives them an excuse to raise their prices even more

I mainly watch india. There’s def a lot of passive aggressiveness from both the viewers and creators. I actually think this community can be so negative. Someone will express something then get ganged up on. Some ppl don’t know how to accept things as they are and move on. We can’t control ppl and what they say or do but we can control how we react.

Everything about your description is spot on. There are SO many creators in this community. If someone doesnt like the way someone crushes, powder plays between crushes, hearing someone breathing, or the types of chalk being crushed there are PLENTY more creators that will have what theyre looking for instead of trying to change someone elses art. Or like you said, they could get their own chalks, dyes, reform molds, and create what they want to see. Ive bought a pnp, gholibn, and nexo chalk so far and i just crush it at home and do what i want with it lol. I subscribe to at least 100 gym chalk creators(im addicted lmao) and all of them have something different to offer. I really really love long powder play at the end of videos, but i also understand how the dust can affect that or even the chalks depending how hard they are and if theyre hands are tired.

IMO it’s always the ones who have never done any content creation that are the loudest. If they were to try and see everyone saying “too fast” “too slow” “not dusty enough” “not crunchy enough” “pieces are too small” “pieces are too big”--everyone wants different things. The logical thing to do, as there are so many artists out there, find the ones who suit your taste the best and know they won’t always 💯 of the time make something you personally enjoy. In that instance, go rewatch some vids you enjoy. Chances are something will come up that you enjoy again soon. Or if it’s shifted so much you don’t enjoy, you don’t have to stay. People get upset with me when they see me telling other people how their comments are unnecessary. People will see a title, click on the video, just to comment “I don’t like these types of crushes”. Everyone is like “respect everyone’s opinion” but fail to understand that some opinions are just not needed and sometimes people are assholes who need to be bullied into shutting up sometimes. I do this BECAUSE I am also a creative and if you don’t like the content, to intentionally leave a comment when you knew upfront that it was something you didn’t like, is crazy to me. I personally don’t condone bullying, you can always be the bigger person. I do agree with the rest of it. I don’t expect it to change anytime soon. In every comment section there’s various of opinions and different perspectives. Sometimes it’s unnecessary and at times it’s just someone voicing their opinion without disrespecting. I think a lot of people mix those two together and that causes generalizations. Like calling every critic a hater, that’s not always the case. I feel for the creators, it’s exhausting.
