External Parasites of Goats Part 2: Mites and Keds
The most commonly reported mites in goats include Demodex, Sarcoptes, Psoroptes and Chorioptes. These genus of mites are also present in other animals but of different species. Mites cause a condition called mange which is a debilitating condition to infested animals. Keds is uncommon in goats and it is more common in sheep. Melophagus ovinus was reported in goats which causes anemia and cockle.

Thanks doc for this vid. May goat din ako dati na tinamaab ng mite. scabies mange. Tapos sinabayan pa ng calcium deficiency kaya nahirapan siya lalo makarecover. Doc ang Keds ba ay yung tinatawag natin na Niknik?

@@docathena5268 not sure po kung Tagalog ang niknik pero makati din sila sa kambing doc. Magpapasok nalang ko kapag may nakikita ako. Malaking tulong din ang manok na kumakain sa kanila. Yes doc nakarecover siya sa calcium deficiency at gumaling din siya sa mange. Kaya lang hindi na siya nagbbuntis at kung sakali man na magbuntis ay hindi na niya kayanin dahil sa permanent damage ng calcium deficiency. Nakalakad man siya ay tagilid na po. Last year na cull namin siya para kahit paano ay makabawi sa meat. 🐐
