I've said this before, but it rings so true still Living through Grbac, Gannon, Smith. Not tasting even the AFC championship since Montana... It's been long and its been rough. I feel so blessed to be enjoying this now. I'm 39 and been rooting for the kingdom since I was 7. Every year I would say "Chiefs are going to the Superbowl!" I would hope against hope every game. Down by 14 with a minute and a half left?No biggie! We'll score and onside recover real quick and go tie it right up. So much hope and faith I had. It still seems so surreal to be experiencing this era. All those childlike hopes made into reality. 32 years. 32 years have I waited. Let downs, false hopes, straight up embarrassments. All for this! How bout those CHIEEEEEEEFS!?!

I went to school with him, however, I never personally met him. But I saw him on campus a few times and he was always smiling and talking to other students.
The Netflix docuseries Quarterback is so good and shows just how much work and pressure they go through and hearing what’s happening on the field is amazing. As a lifelong Eagles fan, I finally see how good Andy Reid truly is and this kid Mahomes… he’s pretty special.
You can hate him for beating your teams on the regular but you can not hate him as a human

I knew nothing about the NFL and just watched the entire documentary. That’s how good it is. I’m now a massive Mahomes fan. He’s a genuinely good guy, and what a tremendous competitor. Other worldly.
I Love to watch Patrick play. He's play with passion and very competitive, yet respectful. I see him as a kid enjoying the game and having fun playing it❤
The old folks used to say that "they raised him/her right. This the type of person they're talking about. Even as a Giants fan, SO MUCH RESPECT for all three QB's in the docuseries "Quarterback". Thank you to all three guys for being so open and honest. I hope we get tow see more seasons of this with other QB's.

I'd love to see the season from a rookie QB's/potential breakout starter's perspective- maybe Bryce Young or Desmond Ridder. Would still love to see that star QB perspective such as Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, or Jalen Hurts. Finish off with the "Kirk Cousins" type such as Geno Smith or Derek Carr. We could follow the same cast as last year, but it'd be interesting to get different guys every year- like a QB1 type of show.
I've been a Bills fan for 60 years and I don't get to see a lot of Patrick. I have learned though that he is indeed a fine young man! He is kind, honest and has those strong family values that have been lost in some circles. I just love it when he is a roll model for my grand kids. With so many things out there that can send them down the wrong path, it makes me appreciate Pat even more. If I ever got to meet him I would tell him exactly that. I have also always liked Nate, he's a great one also!! Peace and may God Bless 8) --gary
He deserves all of this! I love watching him play. What a great guy.
What an absolute spectacle. Best player ever at his sport (my opinion) phenomenal human though and humble. You don’t see it often
Pat is a gamer. On and off the field. He has things figured out perfectly and he enjoys what he does. You can tell.
MY FAVORITE OF ALL PER SAY. THE BEST QB IN HISTORY. PATRICK MAHOMES THE GREATEST OF ALL🎉
I know he now belongs to you KC fans, but I am really proud of this guy, a fellow Texan. I remember him at Texas Tech, which has a tradition of great QBs. One of his Tech coaches said "We didn't really have to coach him. He had natural ability and instinct. Ok Pat, get out there and do it, and he would."
First off, great interview by Nate. The underlying message is that while you need talent to be great, the defining characteristic is a dedication to doing the hard work. That is truly inspiring, even to a fan. "I just need to get 1% better every day." That is something we can all aspire to and achieve.
Dammit, as a GB fan it's hard to hate this guy. The Netflix docuseries was legit fire & made me miss football so much. Keep grindin' Pat!
This is an amazing exchange between two men sharing their experiences. Great dynamic between the two; Nate's questions were exceptional and he created a lot of fun with how he asked them. The small ways that Nate revealed his own life experiences created a beautiful bond between he and Patrick. Equally, Patrick's thoughtful answers and references to his own life revealed much about how he lives and what his life goals and expectations for his own performance are, both in football and daily experience. I'm so happy to have seen this longer version of the piece that I originally viewed.
Great interview. Love Nate Burleson's interview style and taking it to the next level in journalism with CBS after football. Sweet!
I'm so glad Patrick Mahomes is on my team!
Patrick Mahomes loves the game and I still can't believe how lucky we are to have him in Kansas City. His mindset and people around him make him great, we are truly blessed to hame him.
Patrick is the real deal. He is definitely an inspiration. Have a long prosperous career. All the best to you and your family.
Pat, thank you for you presence. Enlightenment is an expression that comes to me with this interview.
"I want to be remembered as a great Quarterback but remembered more as a better person." This right here is what it is all about. For us Kansas City fans we have our Michael Jordan and for these next 10+ years, do not take it for granted. What we are all witnessing is absoulte GREATNESS and the impact of Mahomes will carrying on for generations.. The Dude is different.. like Mj was different. Docu series Quarterbacks for sure is great. Can't wait to see who they bring in for the next. Good Luck Patrick and Chiefs!
He’s such a nice guy, loving husband and father and religious which is great for someone who kids want to be like. I don’t think he’s going to let the money and fame change him or let his kids be totally spoiled because he comes from a good family growing up and is still close to and respectful of his parents. The Chiefs are my favorite team and I get teased because I don’t want anyone talking constantly while I’m watching my game! The people who make mean comments about him are just jealous of everything he’s done!
I feel so lucky to be a chiefs fan now after so many years of what if’s and falling short. Patrick and Steph Curry are my two favorites they are both so humble and grounded. I’m truly living the dream as a fan of both.

Such an amazing person, we all know he’s an amazing athlete. Keep up the great work, Patrick I know you’ve only been in the league for a few years now, but you’re already going down in history make you win many many many more Super Bowls for which happens to be my favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs and I’m not gonna lie when they first drafted you, my father-in-law told me that Kansas City picked up Patrick Mahomes in the 10th peck and I’m sorry I didn’t know who you are and turned out to be I would say if not the best definitely one of the best quarterbacks would’ve ever played the game and like I said you’ve only been there for like five years so that’s really awesome man. Good luck with your wife and children. I know you’re a great dad and best of luck. God bless and take care.
What an EXCELLENT interview Nate! So well done. Not your stock questions. Really got to get the feels for this tremendous player/dad/husband/man...
I absolutely love the guy! Great work ethic in this series! These qb's work, hard! #ChiefsKingdom
So much respect the player, but more importantly the person that PAt is. Seeing him in the docuseries, yelling at Coach Reid for not letting him go back into the game towards the end of the SECOND QUARTER. Showed his competitive fire, but also how he wanted to be there for his teammates, even though x-rays came back negative and he played the second half, knowing how painful it would be, but still finding a way to get the job done.
