To think that these guys did not worry if they would succeed or not, that they did not do it to be famous or rich, and did what they did to help their fellow researchers. Through trial and error, they created something that altered the course of humanity without them meaning to. They could have taken the easy path, concerned about playing golf, sex, relationship, and nonsense, tip toeing safely until they reached death. Instead, they used their time for creative endeavor.

I was hoping to hear them mention J.C.R. Licklider, mentioned in book “The Dream Machine”. Otherwise, I enjoyed this wonderful talk.

Tim Berners Lee is responsible for the creation of the web (W3), which is generally viewed as being created in 1989. The gentlemen in this video were doing their work was back in 1971, in the pre-web time. Not minimizing Tim's contributions of course.
