The freekick was exceptional and a good individual performances, but the assist to the assist was more obvious than amazing - it actually would have been remarkably amazing if he had not made it!

@@shelldahl5080 let's just assume that the pass wasn't amazing but I will just show few points; Main comment said touch, not pass, so I just assume he is talking about the amazing first touch without even bowing the head, looking on the field to search the "easy" pass. Last point is that the pass was well timed and with awareness of his teammates. “Playing football is very simple, but playing simple football is the hardest thing there is” this quote by Cruijff says a lot about the gol.

The equation is as simple as the game itself - it requires some skills though; some of them not that much observed as many love the spectacular higher than the simplicity and efficiency in the art of football.

Those are the tactical instructions from Pep Guardiola. Normally, we see De Bryune making those kind of runs but since he was not playing, Pep asked Walker to do it. Man City is an extremely tactical team under Pep. Players are almost robotic with their intelligent movements.

Good freekick - actually spectacular ... and that is actually the point I want to make: Prior to the freekick Alvarez should have proceeded in the middle and Mahrez should have supported him from behind (possibly taken the shot if Alvarez left the ball) - that is the way football is played !!!
