    Wales played very well too, I feel they were unlucky not to get something from both this match and the England one. Easily could of beaten Ireland and played some beautiful rugby and their team isn't even at full strength. Serious outfit

    Great win and a lot of positives, but Ireland made that a lot more uncomfortable than it should of been. Credit to Wales for never knowing when they're beaten, but our defensive cohesion in the wide channels is worrying, McFadden and particularly Stockdale (yet again) who while brilliant in an attacking sense seems very naive and impulsive defensively, were both sucked in for two of those tries when they really shouldn't have been. All the more worrying with Scotland coming next who can spread the play wide so quickly and effectively with all or nothing passes that can tear apart bad wide channel positioning and bad impulsive decision making.

    Watched this one in a pub filled with Irish fans. When Wales pulled within 3 points late in the 2nd, I was the only one celebrating. But congrats to Ireland. They were the better, hungrier team and deserved to win. Wales had poor discipline, playmaking didn't click and neither did the otherwise staunch defence. Now I hope for Ireland to go the rest of the way and dethrone the English.

    I'm not so sure. Wales allowed 19 points against in their first two matches. And then they allowed twice as many in one match against Ireland. Those phase-after-phase attritional attacks rarely work against Welsh defence. They conceded three tries this way last Saturday. And the discipline was abysmal. So many penalties... This is not taking anything from Ireland, on the contrary. It's the other team's quality, that causes penalties and reveals kinks in the defence.

  • @Irish780

    I think if Ireland keep forgetting about a left and right side of the pitch , off all teams in the six nations Scotland will be smiling. And Wales were very good in that match. Especially since the could hardly get their hands on the ball. You got too remember

  • @JTM1809

    @JTM1809

    Well, I would argue, that if Wales couldn't get or maintain possession, then they weren't really good. The fact, that they managed to score three tries out of nowhere doesn't help much. That's not the way to win championship or maintain continuous success. The way Ireland played is the way. Sure, they were vulnerable at the wings at times, but that's everyone's problem. The wide game is very hard to defend against when played right. And that's what Gatland is trying to play with guys like Steff Evans.

    R Hirshi yeah I think we kinda won ugly using the crash ball tactics to our advantage with probably a slightly superior selection of forwards. I have no doubt if that was a world cup match Wales would win, they have the head when games really matter Ireland can lose it like NZ 2011

    brian w look lad I'm an Irish fan so at the end of the day I'm delighted we won and obviously the scoreboard show that Ireland won. I'm simply saying that 27 points against the joint best team in the tournament in Ireland's back garden shows how good this Welsh team are who everybody wrote off from the first minute of the tournament. Take into consideration that 27 points would have beaten the Scots, England and Italy this weekend (france only scored 34 and that was coz they were playing italy). And with sexton poor form the boot I thought they were unlucky in many ways
